I was really hoping and thinking Glitterball could be a huge #01 when I first heard it :(. Looks like it will do similar to Higher now.

I certainly hope it does better than Higher!

Glitterball should (if anyone has any sense) at least be top 10, top 5 would be incredible!

Why is everyone so convinced that 'Body Talk' is a top 10 hit in the making? It looks like a top 30 to me right now.

Very little radio support so far unfortunately, hard to understand as its a safe summer bet.

Even the labels don't seem to be doing much, even social media wise. Which is odd because actually both artists are in trouble if this isn't a half decent hit.

I love Body Talk but right now I'm not sure that it's going to chart in the top ten either. It's such a good song that I'm hoping it'll be put on the A list by Radio One which will help it have a bit of longevity regardless of its peak though

Glitterball is good but Ella's voice is a little annoying on it. She's kind of singing through her nose a lot of the time.
Ella ruins 'Glitterball' for me! She's gone back to the over the top warbling that she did in The X Factor, which I (one of about 3 people on here) didn't like about her. 'Ghost' and 'Pieces' will be the only good songs from her. More of those two songs and I'll be back on board.

The over the top warbling was probably the main reason why I didn't like her much on The X Factor, it was so annoying at times. I loved her first audition though, her voice sounds much nicer in a lower register.

I find 'Glitterball' hideously generic, which can work okay for so long - I liked 'Higher' for instance - but it's just boring now.
I'm purposely avoiding Glitterball for a while because that sound tires on me SO quickly and I don't really want to be bored of it during its entire chart life like I was with Changing and Nobody To Love  It's a LOT better than Higher which was both generic and boring to me. That whole sound though is just very tired now I think :drama:

I think she was outstanding on XFactor, probably because they really focussed her on the performance and connecting with songs.

I agree with you on lower register though and I dislike the 'inflection'/yodel thing they introduced in her singing. I love her warble though :0)

Glitterball has just jumped 70 places to #230, after a Radio 1 spin. It's kinda annoying they didn't get her to do a mini commercial radio tour to promo it, it could probs have made top 10, it's a decent bit of summer fluff.

The drum n bass sound just has such little variety in general (even if I do enjoy quite a few of them).

The only good Sigma track was Changing honestly. Glitterball sounds like a *slightly* better version of Higher. It's still pretty average though :/

On the yay side of things, Body Talk is now #290!

To be fair, Drum & Bass has been having consistent chart hits since Hot Right Now in 2012 from the likes of Rudimental, DJ Fresh, Sigma, Wilkinson, Chase & Status and Matrix & Futurebound. Even this year, Gravity and Higher charted top 20.

We've honestly been spoilt with so many charting highly and even going to #1 over the last few years.

I'm kinda surprised that 'Powerful' isn't doing better than it is, what with coming off the back of a massive #2 hit, featuring a big name like Ellie Goulding AND with its decent radio support currently. Plus it's a nice song.

Capital will probably start supporting when the hype for "Lean On" starts to die down

It also doesn't help that Powerful is very average when compared to Lean On.

Powerful only really has radio 1 B list support at the mo tho, and it is totally different to Lean On but it's in a fantastic way IMO more dark and moody. Doubt Capital will support it as they only supported Lean On when it was helped into the top 10 after huge radio 1 support.
