We are through and we love to see it too :music: also taking our qualification streak up to 4 consecutive finalists now, nearly at our record best of 5. We are aiming to try and beat that too.

Well... this didn't go down quite as I expected it to and for the type of track that normally does well in the past too. I do admit it was a REALLY strong contest though and whilst I didn't get the Buzzjack Mountain comparison too much, it seems others saw it that way and that worked against us despite qualifying eep.

It's two consecutive days of avoiding bottom 3's for us as we also finished 22nd out of 25 in club bizarre as well. It's the third consecutive month we've finished in the bottom 10/5 area as well. Seems we've lost the spark a bit compared to the beginning of the year.. however depending on if anyone gets to it first I came across something that should turn things around possibly in a big way for next month but I do have to really on the pulse as I'm expecting some to discover and confirm it too and fingers crossed it doesn't get vetoed from too many people confirming it too so fingers crossed. I have a industrial 90's cover as an alternative if my first choice doesn't work but the song I found the other day sounds potentially like a big hit and the artist has come top 5 before!

On the positive side of the results Botanikka won with their excellent 'Midnight Rapture', fantastic use of Blondie mixed with a modern style pop banger. Very well done to them!

140: Lucianblomkamp Ft Ninjarachi - Pray4u

So after getting in real quick with an entry that we'll now push over to Jan now.. we've gone for this bop. 'Pray4U' is a techno PC track that immediately drew us in with its breakdown bits and the vocals parts are the cherry on top. We have drawn last in the semi as well so random.org certainly being very generous to us there.

I really hope this can finish the year off for us better as we gotten used to spending most of the latter part of the year just about qualifying so would be nice to have a more successful entry this time round. Hope you enjoy anyhow!

The Mystery comes in at #1 on our most played 2021 on Spotify. Some redemption for trance *.* after not doing too well in BJSC in the summer whilst Alice and The Glass Lake also winds up at 3rd most listened to. On the other hand 'Pong' has mysteriously been taken off Spotify (6th on Wrapped played) seems a bit unusual as it's been on there for a long time, been listening to it for years lol.

So so so chuffed with 14th. Thank you all who voted for #pray4U <3

Echoing Codys comment in the results thread...Jan's contest really can't come quick enough. I've got so many potential hits ready.

XMAS entry 2021: Type O Negative - Red Water (Christmas Mourning)

First of all ditching the Summer from our country name for this contest as it doesn't fit with the season so introducing Wintericia for December spin off.

Next we enter I think our first Christmas contest with... not a cheery Christmas track at all :kink: American Goth Metal Band Type O Negative released this from their 1996 album October Rust. It's extremely melancholy lyric and music wise. I think they were pretty well known for being a depressive band in general by their subject matters. Frontman Peter Steele passed away in 2010 as well so if that wasn't more eerie enough then I don't know what is  and perhaps the past near two years of Covid probably might work against us too. They are a band I didn't really come across until 2013 when my sister was blaring a couple of their tracks in her car as she's a huge metal fan anyway.

I really like the music element to this a lot hence why I went with it. You can find us in 2nd in the running order!

Much to our surprise Type O Negative placed at an very impressive 6th with 'Red Water' for the Christmas themed contest. Thanks to all who pointed it again!

Now moving onto our 57th entry and we've opted for UK producer Rameses B who makes his BJSC debut despite being around a little while now and he's joined by Canadian artist Veela who many will recognise from being in BJSC back in 2015 after Jadakissnia came top 10 with AK's 'Virtual Paradise' which we gave a LOT of points to. Can't remember if it was 18 or 15 now tbh lol but it was one of those. 'One Day' is a breezy, chilled out, awesome drum n bass track which spreads the message of hope and we can hope this can at least give us a splinter of hope of extending our Q streak and bring it up to 6. Hope y'all enjoy!!

(also Rolloland have sent Carpenter Brut as well *.* Talk about a well announced duo in one post lol. We have hopes it'll be as good as 'Turbo Killer' which underperformed against the odds at the time (came 22nd) which still stings somewhat. Maybe they can finally score a top 20 for his nation this time)

Yay for grabbing a new qualification streak record :cheer: taking us up to 6 now, the DNQ/Borderline predictions did throw us a little bit after feeling fairly confident so we won't get our hopes up of doing well in the final but anywhere outside bottom 10 would be much appreciated just because we've ended up there a lot lately. x

and on subject of former artists Carpenter Brut also qualified. The question is.. will it be in my votes or not? We'll find out next week!

There was no way this was DNQ'ing imo, what an excellent entry!

Thanks Dobbo for the 15. It's been my On Repeat #1 for 6 weeks now, certainly is fab imo.

Moving swiftly on with industrial again next month. Fingers crossed it can not only qualify but do better for us than this contest lol.

142: Emancipator - Minor Cause

For 142 contest we are sending 'Minor Cause' by Canadian guru Emancipator. The song is absolutely glorious and the video which I would absolutely recommend too as the video that goes with it is sublime and stunning too. Perfect package really.

(Can't link the video here for the time being as my laptop is getting fixed by the engineer x)

Laptop back now and here's the video link with Ben Moon responsible for the amazing scenery. Also to add to this Ben also worked with Veela in the past as well and there's a song from 2012 with them lurking around on Youtube as well. Weird considering I just send Veela last month lol. Small world etc.

This is a wonderful entry from you Rob! I must say I’ve been really impressed with the quality of all your entries recently, they really appeal to my music taste and this month is no different, I’m a sucker for all styles of ambient music, and what I’ve sent this month is also in that genre (albeit a more slowed down version than this one) but it’s still great to discover instrumental pieces like this which reminds me that BJSC is a great platform for new discoveries! Splendid work again. ^_^

Aw thanks Wardy. I'm pleased to hear I'm hitting you mark with you at the moment. It's not gone unnoticed that I've been in your votes a lot since you returned. Thanks for the support. I've heard yours and I do really like the piano elements to it a lot. Hopefully both ambient songs can have a shot of getting through!

We're through to the final once again and remaining on a streak which takes us up to 7 now *.*

--

Thought I'd leave this here as this was a surprise looking on my Youtube this morning and very out of the blue random too especially considering I sent both artists last year.. Jessie Frye has uploaded a cover of 'Blood & Fire' which is by Type O Negative. Not a bad cover at that. Link below out of curiosity.

My childhood favourite being sent here :o

Ooh nice to see it was a childhood classic of yours. Thanks for the 15 again and the heaps of hype for me to win lol. Would have been nice but I didn't see it doing that exactly.

I did have optimistic expectation of a top 10 however so I'm chuffed it lived up to that. 3 9th's in a final now despite hoping it somehow would hold 7 or 8 for a new top 10 position but it's cool still.

A big thanks to Wardy and Chez for the 18's. The latter I totally saw coming as Terra is known for sending similar entries such as this one!

'Minor Cause' wasn't actually my first Emancipator song choice btw until like the last 4 days when I saw it in my recommendations listening to the other song of theirs I had been locking in to send along with a pop song.

Sorry to the niche crowd but atm it will likely be back to pop next month :kink: at the moment. Unless something else springs up.
