Apparently (seen the Twitter posts) some MP's of the Tory duncehead persuasion are of the view that the police don't retrospectively open cases on crimes a year old (re: illegal party at H of P last christmas, which would have been noted by the police on stationed on site at the time, and they would have a full list of who was present). This is marvellous news for all murderers who got away with it for longer than 12 months. Doesn't matter what the actual evidence or if the police saw it happen, you get off scot free after 12 months! I can see they will have to free most people in prison now, on the grounds that it was 12 months before they opened up a case on the crime.

I think they actually meant, to be fair, that "The police doesn't open files on any illegal activity carried out by MP's as we control their funding and if they know what's good for them they'll just shut the f*** up, know what I mean, sending in the big boys to sort you out mate". But being Tories, they couldnt help twisting the truth into a lie. It's an affliction, a bit like Covid, that spreads at parties and gatherings amongst twats who think they are immune.

It is worth noting that the "Tory MPs of the duncehead persuasion" include Dominic Raab who is supposed to be the Justice Secretary. He therefore joins the list of Cabinet members who know nothing about their department.

However, as dumb as Raab is there is a chilling method to this madness.

Basically his job there is to destroy the justice system so that pesky judges cant stop the Tory ministers when they break the law. That's why they got rid of Buckland, he didn't go far enough.

So not only are the Tories clamping down on protests and trying to fix the election with voting reform so they have permanent rule. They are also above the law! Some libertarian Johnson turned out to be....

Exclusive footage obtained by ITV News taken from 22 December 2020 shows Allegra Stratton joking about the 'alleged' party four days earlier. That's Allegra 'doing your bit for climate change by not rinsing plates before you put them in the dishwasher' Stratton. Cheers for that.

It's the story that can't be buried. Don't know how a few people survive this one. Don't think it really matters where your political views lie, the fact that Downing Street were allowed to have a party while the rest of us couldn't just stinks completely.

Well I hope that damage is caused to Johnson and the Tory brand by this (although I think it will be fleeting) but a part of me thinks why this compared to their policy on austerity, stirring up division, provocative isolation from Europe or their blatant financial fraud?
Ant and Dec are taking the mick out of him on ‘I’m a Celeb’ every night hope that shows it’s getting through to the brain dead masses!

This time feels a little different as there is the sleeze narrative and the Tory MPs are not going to be happy either. Think the video has over 4m views and is the lead story all over the place tonight. Downing Street are denying the story but not sure how long that can hold up now.. PMQs could be firery tomorrow.

It's nice to know this was going on at the same time they enforced a nationwide ban on mixing indoors, and many of us (myself included) were prevented from seeing loved ones and had to spend Christmas by ourselves because of Tier 4 restrictions.

On the plus side Laura Kuenssberg says it's the best party she's ever been to.

Starmer was on TV earlier saying Johnson needs to apologise and acknowledge what he has done but he was like a wet lettuce. If a party did go ahead as suspected, then how on earth can anyone have any trust or faith in this government so he needs to resign. Dominic Cummings sega was bad enough but it’s like one rule for the M.P.s and another for everyone else.

From the beginning, this government has never taken covid seriously through ineffective action, delays in lockdown and multiple other incompetencies and the party is just the icing on the cake.

What do you mean by this?

Johnson isn’t going to go because Starmer demands it. He will only go if his own MPs demand it. That is more likely to happen if Starmer humiliates him at PMQs. A Labour demand for a resignation is more likely to make Tories rally round the fat, lying, incompetent blob of flesh.

I don' think Starmer or the Labour Party want Johnson to resign. What does his resignation bring at this moment? A polls bounce. Surely right now it's better to watch the Tories self-implode. Johnson is never going to resign, so asking for him to is not going to make a blind bit of difference. The narrative is sewn now, the fact I'm A Celebrity have allowed this story to blow up even further is hilarious.

Javid skipped the media rounds this morning about the booster programme.

The dangerous thing is that if or when we need to introduce more restrictions then the public are generally far less likely to follow them then they are already are now.

Nah that won't happen, the Government said the previous lockdown lifting was irreversible and they never lie about anything!

Ha ha - well they are apparently announcing Work From Home if you can (yes! as that's really riles up the Tory landonwers and press) and apparently vaccine passports.

The point I was making was that the Labour leaders response was pretty pathetic given the seriousness of the situation and this is the problem. No matter what the tories do and how bad things seem to get, labours response is also inadequate. Yes,I agree Johnson is unlikely to go just because Labour demand it but we need a far stronger opposition to get rid of this abysmal deceitful government who only had their own interests at heart.

Which suggest the person who leaked that video is a massive lockdown sceptic then, trying to make it impossible for him to announce any of that.

The biggest issue is, who the f*** is going to listen when we now the government weren't?
