Yes, been a busy boy.

Looks like it came straight from the Ministry too, so someone's obviously done the dirty on him. I'd love to say there's no way he can survive this.. but he will

A breach of social distancing laws (not guidance) and potentially yet another breach of the ministerial code then. Nothing seems to be a resignation or sacking event anymore. Even Theresa May at her weakest had the balls to sack Williamson and Patel. What does a senior minister have to do to get the sack from Johnson?!

And, of course, both of those ministers picked up a generous severance payment and then found themselves back in the Cabinet before too long (just a few months in Williamson's case).

When Sage member Neil Ferguson broke the Covid rules by visiting his girlfriend, someone called Matt Hancock suggested that he should be prosecuted. I wonder if he thinks the same about a minister called, *checks notes*, Matt Hancock.
The damage done to our democracy because Boris is a weak pathetic excuse for a human being will take decades to undo. I’ve lost count of the amount of people who he should have sacked by now to the point where his continuation as Prime Minister is now the greatest threat the UK faces to its democratic order

Quite. When there's no consequences, this creates a feedback loop into the populace who then don't see anything wrong with Tories breaking the rules because they've gotten used to it. The Conservative Party discovering how to manipulate the media and how there are no consequences if you just ignore accusations has been a disastrous experiment.

Boris has accepted the apology and considered the matter closed. Lmao.

this goddamn line...

If any of the cabinet ministers ever has to resign because of a scandal, then it starts shining a light on all the rest of them. They're going to have to hold tight around Hancock or they'll all be out.

who watches the watchers?

And now it is emerging that Hancock's aide's brother is director of a company that has won several NHS contracts.

This dreadful shower needs to wise up to the fact that the day will come when they are no longer in power. That non-Tory government will, no doubt, face lots of calls for individual ministers to resign. Why would that government feel any obligation to take any notice?

I mean if bullying employees and severe breaking of their own set Covid rules isn't enough to get you sacked in this government, I can't say I'm surprised, I think if it came out that a cabinet member shot someone, that wouldn't be enough. 'Accountability' and 'Consequences' clearly do not exist in this government.

The only hope is that these revelations keep coming that they have to do something. I honestly don't know why they even bother with Hancock at this point, he's so hopelessly pathetic even stooping to their level and seems pretty replaceable to please the baying mob.

or, indeed, the Watchmen? ( )

He was snapped kissing and cuddling her outside his office in the Dept. Of Health. :o Not defending him but bit careless of them..

Before the last 18 months, I’d have fully expected him to be sacked for this but that just doesn’t happen anymore, does it? The absolute gall to break the law in this way when we’ve all been following the guidelines.

During the pandemic, some people lost their sense of taste.

All the while this cretin was telling us to “stay at home”, “avoid contact with others” and “not go on dates or have casual sex”. Go figure...

This sums up why this story is far bigger than another "minister has affair" story...

As much as I hate The Sun, they have released this at the perfect time. There's nothing to bury the story in the media until Tuesday most likely when England play. Whoeber leaked this has got the footage from CCTV. He's got zero credibility now though - "yes all you plebs do as you please, but I'm going to shag my Mistress :D". I think the best part of it all is it's caught Hancock completely by surprise too.

This is the far best parody I've seen so far

That's a mirror of the attitude many people have adopted. Plenty of people suspect that this is a story authorised by Johnson to take attention away from another piece of bad news. I've not yet seen any hint of what that story might be so you may well be right.

There are, of course, lots of people trying to suggest that a bigger story is the question of who leaked the CCTV footage. That is significant as it suggests a major breach of data protection law but it shouldn't be allowed to divert attention from Hancock's apparent flouting of Covid restrictions.
