I love that you’ve started a vinyl Instagram, Jade *.* I’ve been tempted to do that, but a mixture of laziness and a worry that there wouldn’t be much interest in it, has held me back :kink: Also I find it difficult to take photos of vinyl without shadows; maybe I should read up on how to combat that.

 

I’ve been pretty restrained with vinyl ordering in 2021! So far I’ve only ordered Kylie - ‘Real Groove’ 7” single.

 

2020 orders: I’m still waiting to receive Britney Spears - ‘Swimming in the Stars’ 12” single, Mariah Carey - ‘E=MC2’ and Mariah Carey - ‘Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse’ albums.

 

Definitely wanting Ariana Grande - ‘Positions’ album, but I was hoping it would show up on Amazon UK so I can save on postage, but it’s not been listed yet. I feel like I should show my support and order Sophie Ellis-Bextor - ‘Read My Lips’, but I’ve only heard the singles from it :o Biding my time to order Taylor Swift - ‘evermore’ until closer to release date (May!).

 

Re: Plastic Pop, Girls Aloud albums on vinyl would be a dream come true :wub: I hope that’s in the pipeline! Universal giving their blessing & involvement with Sophie’s debut album is a positive sign!

:wub: it's been good fun so far - if you ever decide to then I'll definitely follow! I haven't really thought too deep about the photo quality oops, just wanted an interesting background and the sleeve + record on show, that's about it - I guess it's more for me but if others want to have a look too then great! (and I love seeing other collections)

 

Fingers crossed that the Ariana album shows up on Amazon soon! I think you would enjoy the Sophie album - electropop type goodness :heart:

 

Keeping everything crossed for GA! A lot of people seem to be speculating solo Spice releases in the comments on instagram so we'll see if those come too ;o

I got it from eBay! I think I experienced a lucky bidding war because the starting prices on there right now are all higher than what my end price was :drama: so yeah maybe keep a look out on there in case it comes up again for a more reasonable amount! 'It's A Sin' has really brought me back to their music <3

It's a brilliant album. If you haven't done already, take a re-listen to 'Being Boring' by them in the context of It's a Sin, the lyrics were always great but they seem even more poignant now :cry:

That said, shipping is £8 so it's better ordering when there are a few things you want at the same time as it stays £8 regardless of how much you order. Also, they are generally cheaper and the service does reflect that a bit, things don't always arrive dead on release date etc.

I've been waiting for a bootleg copy of New Order's Substance album to come up on eBay for ages now and two appear at once! Even better is the seller also has two bootleg copies of Chill Out by the KLF so I've snapped one of those up too.

 

I'm not usually a fan of bootlegs but both of these apparently sound great according to discogs reviews and they look really nice too :wub:

 

 

I have been messaging V V Brown on Twitter today to see if we can get each of the vinyls as separate releases on vinyl and she has put them up on her kickstarter. The prices are below:

For anyone that hasn't checked out these albums, I would strongly recommend doing so! Samson and Delilah in particular ranks as one of my favourite albums ever and the other two are great too. You can get each one individually or as a combo (which is what I am going for).

Ordered this today. As far as commercial dance music compilations go on vinyl, this seems to have a very obvious but good tracklist spanning the styles and decade.

Finally won Now 21 after uncharacteristically losing 2 bidding wars for it, more in demand than I thought :lol:

 

Also added more classical with the '1917' soundtrack by Thomas Newman (translucent green vinyl) :heart:

I don’t like championing law breaking but I have to say that the clear bootleg of Chill Out is excellent, it’s got all the samples in it and is way cheaper than trying to source a decent quality original. It was only £20 as well.

I had trouble with Now 21 as well! Wonder what makes it so desirable?

Just looked at the tracklist and it has both Stay AND Justified and Ancient *.* - plus the fab A Deeper Love and High too. A shame about a lot of the others though :kink:

 

 

Yesterday, I found out about a 'one copy only' boxset pressing of Steven Wilson's new album The Future Bites. It cost £10,000 (with the funds going to the UK Music Venue Trust).

This is very interesting! The other 'one copy only' vinyl pressing I heard of came out back in 2002. That one was a 7" of The One by Foo Fighters (which was being given as a prize in a radio competition)

 

Yeah I read about that as well, it did sell as well!
