July 28, 20159 yr Has to be Thunder. I like a lot of her songs but that's by far and away the best  Going back to Burning Up this thread brought back to me how much a missed opportunity that was, it's a shame nothing much happened because it really could have been massive.
July 29, 20159 yr This countdown is shit (not you Davidson, just the results!). 'Price Tag' should've been in the top 5 and AHEAD of 'Thunder' at the very least. 'Thunder' is ridiculously average and does not deserve to be top 5 in any Jessie countdown! So overrated on here. :( But then again this site seems to ADORE 'Radioactive' by Rita and hail it as one of her best so... :( YOU'RE ALL WRONG AND STUPID AND RUBBISH AND WRONG. :(
July 29, 20159 yr WTF at Price Tag being this low, deserves to be top 5 at least, to be honest was never that keen on her debut single "Do It Like A Dude", and found this so much better. "Who You Are" is another brilliant song from her, so powerful and emotional. I was wrong before but think that "Thunder" has to finish at #5 at least. "Domino" or "Wild" to win now definitely. Also surprised that "Bang Bang" is still in here, due to it getting played to death last year, it was everywhere.
July 29, 20159 yr Price Tag and Who You Are out  Both are utterly amazing  That's 4 of my Jessie top 5 out so Do It Like A Dude for the win please *.*
July 29, 20159 yr Author So starting off our top 5 is... 05. Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang (7.73) It is time to say goodbye to Jessie's massive hit from last year, 'Bang Bang'. The song acted as the lead single from the 'Sweet Talker' era, the second of her lead singles to feature two other artists. Many had thought that Jessie's chances of getting another #01 hit were over given the rather disappointing sales of the singles during the 'Alive' era, when compared to those of the previous era. However, it would appear that this collaboration was all that was needed, sending Jessie to the top of the UK Singles Chart once again. The song went on to become one of the biggest global smashes of last year, becoming far and away her biggest hit in the States, with a peak of #03. The fact the song was rather inescapable probably means it has become a love it or hate it type affair (if it wasn't enough of one already). You may have noticed the song ended up with the same average score as 'Who You Are' but received so many 11's (six in fact), it has placed fifth in the rate. I am very happy this has managed the top 5 and become the highest single from the 'Sweet Talker' era. Jessie's vocals really do steal the show on this song (soz Ariana, you're good in it too) and along with Nicki's wonderful rap it really is pop gold. Great collab all round. 0HDdjwpPM3Y
July 29, 20159 yr I really enjoy 'Bang Bang' these days, although I fiercely disliked it for ages after its release. I think hearing it when wasted on a night out helped with that once.
July 29, 20159 yr Bang Bang is best Jessie J track hands down. (though it may be forever plagued by the image of Jessie advertising biscuits in a big yellow outfit http://i57.tinypic.com/2vif5fa.jpg)
July 29, 20159 yr Author 04. Jessie J - Thunder (7.75) Managing a very respectable 4th place is the third and final single from the 'Alive' era, 'Thunder'. The song was hailed as a big album highlight by fans when it was first released, and was received well by non-fans too when released as a single. It did not go on to be one of Jessie's biggest commercial successes, only managing a peak of #18, however it has obviously left more of an impression with you guys than it did the general public. Personally, I enjoy it but I am shocked to see it get this high. I would have probably placed it low top 10 on the rate myself, but with the rate being so close (only 0.02 between the positions of 4-6), you have chosen 'Thunder' to come out the best. I can kind of see why it has placed where it has done, as it is probably the least offensive, or least potentially marmite-like thing she has ever released, so I suppose it kind of keeps everyone happy. At least the performance of the song on The Royal Variety performance was breath-taking and one of her best vocal performances ever. jCM-aRqvbHI
July 29, 20159 yr For me 'Thunder' is in a completely different league to anything else she's ever released, it's sensational. It's a shame it was released at a point when no single would've done amazing things. It did better here than I thought it would though!
July 29, 20159 yr Price Tag is possibly one of the most annoying 'big' hits for me over he past decade. It grates on me so much.
July 31, 20159 yr Author 03. Jessie J feat. Big Sean & Dizzee Rascal - Wild (8.22) Just missing out on the top two is Jessie's lead single from her second album 'Alive'. 'Wild' was released in May 2013 as an On Air/On Sale release and shot to near the top of the iTunes chart, charting at #05 officially, which would become it's peak in the long run. Although only peaking at #05 may have seemed a bad performance for the lead single, given how big the singles from the 1st era were, it continued to chart well in subsequent weeks meaning it was certified as Gold and became the 38th best selling single of 2013. I love the song and think it's a great lead, however to this day I feel like it would be better with just one rap rather than two. Still, it would appear you guys like it, with it taking the bronze position. jrNLsC_Y9Oo
July 31, 20159 yr Author So let's finally crown our winner. First let's see the runner up... 02. Jessie J - Domino (8.27) So only just missing out on being crowned your ultimate Jessie single is the worldwide hit 'Domino'. The song acted as the lead single from the re-release of 'Who You Are' and was certainly the most pop-by numbers song she had released up until that point. The song was widely compared to the work of Katy Perry, with the catchy and undeniable Dr Luke production. The joyous and uplifting chorus made an impression worldwide, with it becoming Jessie's biggest American hit to that point, peaking at #06 (only being beaten by 'Bang Bang'). It also went on to become Jessie's second UK #01 single, staying at the top spot for two weeks. It is definitely a Jessie classic. Is it my favourite? No, but it is undeniably a smash hit and one of the most fun and catchy songs she has released to date. Very worthy runner up. UJtB55MaoD0 So that can only mean... 01. Jessie J - Do It Like A Dude (8.31) Stomp, stomp, she's arrived. And she certainly did arrive with the massive 'Do It Like A Dude'. You have decided that Jessie's first ever single is still her best to date and certainly made a lasting impression. At the time of release, the song caught a lot of attention by introducing what seemed like a very edgy new artist to the mainstream. Although the sort of urban-esque flavours of 'Do It Like A Dude' hasn't been followed through with all of her subsequent releases, it would appear she would maybe be more favourable on BuzzJack had she followed this route - the route she deemed to be almost parody-like of the music industry at the time. I remember this track splitting opinion massively at the time (as many tracks do with Jessie involved), but I am so glad to see that has this support and love after becoming such a big #02 hit at the time. I certainly haven't got bored of it and I still believe it to be one of her best. Fantastic winner! YAY. pOf3kYtwASo The final rundown is... 01. Do It Like A Dude (8.31) 02. Domino (8.27) 03. Wild (8.22) 04. Thunder (7.75) 05. Bang Bang (7.73) 06. Who You Are (7.73) 07. Price Tag (7.65) 08. Nobody's Perfect (7.46) 09. Masterpiece (6.98) 10. Flashlight (6.73) 11. Burnin' Up (6.65) 12. Who's Laughing Now? (6.60) 13. It's My Party (6.35) 14. Sweet Talker (6.23) 15. Laserlight (6.17) 16. Up (5.92) 17. Remember Me (5.24) 18. Silver Lining (Crazy 'Bout You) (5.10) 19. Calling All Hearts (4.33)
July 31, 20159 yr Happy enough with the winner. I still find it ironic that it was a piss take of the trends at the time and it went on to be HUGE. Thank you for doing this Davidson. Not happy with the results, but I guess that was always going to happen in a forum full of people who don't appreciate Jessica Cornish. :snif:
August 1, 20159 yr Great top 3, always loved "Domino" and glad it done so well, and "Wild" should have been bigger, but "Do It Like A Dude" is a decent enough #1 and pretty unexpected here, great rate thanks.
August 1, 20159 yr "Wild" and "Do It Like a Dude" remain her best material for me - both standout tracks in not only her discography, but in chart music in their respective years. Interested to see what she'll churn out for album #4 - I'd say she should take a break and work on some better material, but people might lose interest even more if she does.
