July 10, 2024Jul 10 I’m not a regular gig goer - it’s certainly not something I’d think to arrange of my own accord. But today someone at work sent an email round saying she had a spare ticket for The Killers supported by Travis at the O2 she was looking to sell on, and I just thought why not. It was great, and did make me wonder why I don’t do it more often. It was a standing ticket but that seemed much better to me as it meant I could get much closer, and I was only 8 rows from the stage. The most amazing part was when they brought the football up on the big backing screen just after England scored the decisive goal and showed the last three minutes! And then a load of confetti came down and they played “Mr Brightside”! That wouldn’t have really been possible to plan so there must have been some really quick and clever thinking going on. Even as a non football fan who’s only really 1/4 English that was a very special moment. I’ll put spoiler tags round the set lists in case anyone’s still to see the show. I may have missed a couple.
