At #8 is "Already Gone" released in August 2009 as the 3rd single from her 4th album "All I Ever Wanted" . There was a lot of controversy surrounding this, as the song itself was co-written by Ryan Tedder and Kelly herself, but on the production side, Kelly thought that this sounded too much like "Halo" by Beyoncé, which Ryan also wrote, and accused him of copying the arrangement, which he denies and caused a rift between the two. Kelly herself even tried to have the song removed from the album, but it was too late as the CD's were already pressed and printed, and when the record company decided to have the song released, this caused even more anger, as Kelly wanted "Cry" to be released instead, but that never happened. Despite all this the song did receive acclaim and became successful on the US Top 100 by reaching #13, outpeaking the album's previous single "IDNHU" which managed #20. In the UK it charted at #66 on downloads, but the release was cancelled at the last minute, which prevented it from climbing any higher. Elsewhere it managed top 20 peaks in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Swiss and Slovakia, while managing top 40 in Germany, New Zealand, Sweden and Austria.

'Already Gone' is stunning. So much better than 'Cry' (which is fantastic in itself) so I was very happy. However, I completely get why she wanted the latter released over it after everything that went off around it. :( (and I think it'd have been pushed with Kelly's heart really in the game & wanting it to be a success - so it'd have been a top 40 hit over here at least)

SILLY PEOPLE

That is by far and away her best song. A perfect match of singer and song, and so much better than Halo (which it does sound a lot like).

Already Gone is about right for me (position wise, there are a couple of songs I'd have below it which are above it here) but fantastic song anyway! Probably in my top 100 ever.
"Already Gone" is one of her best perfromances! I adore it. However, the videoclip was so bland and uninteresting.

07. Underneath The Tree | Wrapped In Red | Avg.8.631

At #7 is Kelly pulling off a fantastic Christmas sound with the amazing "Underneath The Tree" and well I must say that I'm so glad that this did so well and has made the top 10 here, as it does truly rank as amongst her best. Not only does it captures the X-Mas sound perfectly, it already sounds like a festive holiday classic along the lines of "All I Want For Christmas" by Mariah and "White Christmas" by Bing Cosby. Released in November 2013 as the lead single from her 6th studio album and also her first Christmas album "Wrapped In Red" and was instantly praised upon release. It was first released to the US Adult Contemoray charts where it hit #1 and also made top 10 on the US Holiday 100, then entering the US Top 100 at #92 and eventually climbing to #78, becoming a minor success. Elsewhere it managed top 40 peaks in Netherlands, Belgium, Canada and UK. But honestly should have been much bigger, but oh well maybe in years to come over the holiday seasons it will keep re-entering the charts and become a bigger smash, that's the beauty of living in the download age. Scoring a whopping 12 10's on this rate, and mainly high rates throughout.

Underneath The Tree screams classic in 20 years to me. It's going to be one of those that people just KNOW and LOVE, despite never actually buying or even knowing exactly what it is.
Didn't take a couple of years before AIWFCIY was considered a classic? I'm hoping this gets a similar sort of push. It's sensational. I'd even go as far as to say, it's my favourite Christmas song of all time now. It's so joyous and exactly what a Christmas hit, should be. 'Winter Dreams (Brandons Song)' is also brilliant. The whole 'Wrapped In Red' album is actually great! The originals all have that timeless sound to them <3
I do prefer Winter Dreams to UTT, but that's purely because it's so perfectly sentimental, mushy and Christmassy (as well as being an amazing song to boot too, of course). Together they are both in my Christmas song top 5 for sure, which is a high achievement given I love most of the classics.
I never understood CMB. She was in the UK. She performed bloody Breakaway on the X Factor. What!!!!

Well it wasn't a completely ridiculous decision considering she was promoting her Greatest Hits album first and foremost :P. Also, that X Factor final performance was the one to accompany the montage of the series IIRC so 'Breakaway' was probably deemed most appropriate by producers (?) (though 'Catch My Breath' would have worked just fine too).

Speaking of missed opportunities, I always thought it was a shame she was too sick to come to the UK to promote her Christmas album as I'm sure 'Underneath The Tree' would have had a nice peak if it got a performance or two. It had all the makings of a hit, much like 'One More Sleep', but I guess it did well to go top 30 officially when it only had radio play.

'Never Again' and 'Already Gone' are both really underrated when it comes to KC singles. The former could've been massive if Clive/RCA actually gave the song support. 'Already Gone' I thought would've been big - especially since Ryan Tedder was flavour of the month even back in 2009 - but maybe the 'Halo' comparisons hindered its chances.

Hopefully 'Because Of You' wins this. I'll always have a soft spot for that song. Not only are Kelly's vocals and the track itself great but the video is one of my all-time favourites.

Pleased to see that this high, it's always been unfairly maligned in my eyes. It's typical Kelly, just with a little more bite.

It's f***ing horrible! Probably has the least tune of any Kelly song. It's literally just three minutes of shouting. VILE

06. Breakaway | Breakaway | Avg.8.884

Highest Rates: 11 (Joe, Insomnio), 10 (Rob S, Liam, Frank, Acidburn, Ultraviolence1989, Cameron, Ryan, Gavindeejay, AdamAloud, Heezus Froot, Jark, Bartsimpson, Riser), 9 (Frank, Griff, Jonjo, Mack, barbaric dan, Sean, Kylie Jackson, Liamshikari27)

Lowest Rates: 6 (Mullo, Troublepink), 7 (Fgiboy2511, MOBILE ADAM)

At #6 we have "Breakaway" which was first released in the USA in July 2004, as the lead single from her 2nd studio album of the same name, originally it was supposed to be just a standalone single as a soundtrack release from "The Princess Diaries 2" movie and something to tide the fans over, until her new album came out, but it became so successful that she named her 2nd album after it. This song was originally meant to be recorded by Avril Lavinge for her debut album "Let Go", but was deemed unsuitable and Kelly snapped it up. It reached #6 on the USA Top 100 and would be the start of her most successful phase of her career. It was later released elsewhere in May 2006 as the 5th International single and again became a big hit by reaching top 10 in Australia, Hungary, Belgium, Austria and Netherlands, and top 20 peaks in Ireland, New Zealand, Germany, Swiss and Slovakia. In the UK it just missed the top 20 by peaking at #22.
