November 26, 20159 yr There's something vastly counterproductive around this United team. The complete lack of pace in the middle seems to nullify the threat of speed out wide. And Schweinsteiger is seemingly unable to play alongside Schneiderlin (although that's a whole different issue, I think the team is more comfortable with than without Schwein). I was sat watching the match last night and couldn't stop thinking what a #MoyesOut performance it really was. That being said, come Saturday evening we'll be top of the league. Weird season in Manchester thus far. Edited November 26, 20159 yr by Cassidy
November 29, 20159 yr Yous will win a poor league! I don't reckon we will. Even just looking at Saturday's performance it becomes clear how far away we are. On their best day City, Arsenal and even Liverpool would've put 10 past Leicester. We could play that fixture 38 times over the course of the season and would still only come away with that bland, insipid score draw bollocks. That'll be the difference over the course of a full season.
December 8, 20159 yr Author I can see Wolfsburg beating Man Utd tonight probably by a couple of goals. BT Sport Showcase will be showing PSV v CSKA Moscow tonight.
December 8, 20159 yr I have a bad feeling about tonight, Thursdays nights may not be the same again this season.
December 8, 20159 yr We will still be in Europe as the lowest we can finish now is 3rd. I'd rather have CL but if we end up in Europa then oh well, it's still European games, extra cash and a comp where we have a more realistic shot of doing well
December 8, 20159 yr WTF is with Van Gaal's subs tonight? Borthwick-Jackson on for Darmian over Ashley Young?! Nick Powell? I know they're a reduced squad but this is just bizarre. Young must be fuming!
December 8, 20159 yr LVG is incredibly lucky that almost no premiership teams have turned up this season. I'm sure had Man United missed the top four considering his budget he would have been axed. I'm positive that he will leave / removed at the end of the season.
December 8, 20159 yr It'll all depend who is available that we can steal as a replacement. I can't see us ditching LVG without a decent replacement lined up.
December 8, 20159 yr It'll all depend who is available that we can steal as a replacement. I can't see us ditching LVG without a decent replacement lined up. Giggs is the replacement. United got what they deserved. Some absolutely crazy substitutions by LVG, not sure what he was thinking. Europa League isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, it's a good little competition.
December 8, 20159 yr I have to say I'm thrilled. Wolfsburg played with spectacular attacking verve which United were just unable to match as the game progressed. Wolfsburg's comeback goal to reclaim the lead was HIGH DRAMA. Can't remember a CL match this entertaining since Real lost 3-4 to Schalke last year and went through anyway. AMAZING.
December 8, 20159 yr City do a City and go through top despite being behind to Monchengladbach with 15 minutes to go. Sevilla get prepped for a third Europa League title on the trot by beating Juve. What a night.
December 8, 20159 yr Thank God we got PSV in our group! :D Man Utd should be able to top Group B but Wolfsburg could be quite a tough match. What was I thinking! It was the matches against PSV that really F'd us up, I knew we weren't going to win the Champions League this season but to go out at the group stage is abysmal. Now we have to get used to playing on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons every week :drama: The Europa League will be more competitive than usual now with potentially up to 5 English teams in the Round of 32 and the defending champions Sevilla back in the competition. From an objective point of view it must have been a great match to watch for the neutral and for anyone that questions why people like football all you need to do is show them this match.
December 8, 20159 yr Wolfsburgs second goal was beautiful. United at least have a chance to win the old Uefa cup which they never won so they have the full European cup collection. It is a joke that third place teams go through to the Europa league tho IMO.
December 8, 20159 yr It's a shame but it proves we weren't ready yet. Rather this than squeezing through to the last 16 anyway and getting demolished by Madrid 8-0... Thursday games means Sunday Prem games so more matches on TV, plucking out the positives.
December 9, 20159 yr If Chelsea & Arsenal drop into the Europa League as well then Match Of The Day will be quite boring on Saturdays, mainly focusing on the relegation battle (which isn't much of a battle tbh). Match Of The Day 2 will probably be held in a higher esteem in the 2nd half of the season. Manchester City will constantly have the upper hand in the title race heading into the Sunday matches assuming they replace Leicester at the top by then. Then it will be a case of having to win games on Sunday to keep up with them and put pressure back onto them.
December 9, 20159 yr I can't see both Chelsea and Arsenal failing tonight. The former have (largely) been able to grind out results in the CL so far and Arsenal always seem to turn up on nights like this.
December 9, 20159 yr Author I really don't see how Man United are better than last year according to Louis Van Gaal. This is a group we really should have got through. At least Moyes got us to the quarter-finals. Probably the only time Sky will show live footage of the Champions League: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...97m-rights.html
December 9, 20159 yr Let's hope that we get Bayern Munich/Real Madrid vs Barcelona final this season and hopefully that match can be as entertaining as last night's match.
December 9, 20159 yr Author Chelsea going out of the Champions League would definitely increase the amount of pressure that Mourinho is in. Arsenal should really beat Olympiakos tonight although they'll probably slip up somehow.
