Presumably this is because there are less songs up for pre-order, seeing as record companies are starting to re-adopt on air/on sale.

It looks like OA/OS is more popular now than it was when the release dates were on a Sunday (and it's good so, makes the chart more exciting and surprising)

yasssssss @ tough love's progress despite virtually no radio support~ :cheer:
I'd be okay with it if it wasn't for that lyric (you know the one I mean).

I just can't get past it, it makes me cringe really hard.

God, I thought I was the only one. There are all these people on Twitter quoting that lyric earnestly with heart emojis and everything and it's just... :arrr:

Really hoping Natalie gets added to some radio playlists this coming week!

Come on 'Around The World'. Be a smash :(

Yay for Galantis! Hope it can smash as its such a tune!!!!

Really can't believe how well Tough Love are doing, hopefully they should get top 40 on Friday.

I still can't tell how Rita will do, I don't think she'll make the top 10 officially unless the tracks up for streaming yet?

'And when you leave me all alone

I'm like a stray without a home

I'm like a dog without a bone

I just want you for my own'

Brings a tear to your eye haha

Well you only have to look at the main hook to find a sentence that DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE.

Tbf I think it could be bashed on any level you fancy. Except chart position!

I hope the Meghan era is over soon. It's painful.

Although Robin Thicke probably trumps her....

All this bashing of Marvin Gaye like we're living in an era of pioneering lyricism.

Other songs also having terrible lyrics doesn't excuse the utterly cringeworthy ones in 'Marvin Gaye'

Marvin Gaye is a good pop song. It is a shame they couldn't have thought of a better way of phrasing things in the chorus but I can live with that.

Few reaches the level of cringe-worthiness as Marvin Gaye! ;)

And btw, there are a whole bunch of people out there writing incredible lyrics - they are rarely seen in the singles charts though.

Can you name a time when we were in an era of pioneering lyricism without mentioning a time before you were born or using the phrases 'back in the day' or 'when artists had REAL talent'?

Fair point. Lyrical quality has always been seen as less important than musical quality.
