But now it's time to assign countries! Here's how this part is going to work: 1. Post in this thread with your intent to take part, along with a number from 1 - 56. I will then tell you which country you have been assigned from the list. To make things a little more interesting and a little less predictable, myself and the mods have agreed to omit certain countries from the list, these are: UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. 2. Once you have received your country, you can start searching for a song from that country! There isn’t any strict rules regarding this, just of course that the artist of your song is from your assigned country. However, myself and the mods will throw out anything that goes against the spirit and point of the spin-off, for example entering PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ if you got South Korea. Or trying to find a loophole for using an artist, for example entering Bebe Rexha if you got Albania. The whole point of this spin-off is to try and get a great deal of diversity so please make sure your artist is from your assigned country and is still based there now. I hope for it to be completely different to a standard BJSC. 3. Of course, past Eurovision and BJSC entries are not allowed. I will open a Confirmations thread on Monday evening, which will be open until Saturday evening, with the voting thread going up next Sunday. As everyone will have a different country and therefore won’t be competing for artists/songs, you are free to discuss your potential entries in the thread, but of course keeping your final selection confidential by being confirmed to myself via PM once confirmations open! If you’re having trouble researching an entry, we’re all here to help each other! So if you want to take part, just pick a number! And if you have any questions just fire away! August 15, 20159 yr Oh yes not a pesky European country :D Not an Asian one (I may have to advise you Bra) but we can definitely work with that. Can I just give two little tips if anyone really does have a struggle. A) the first thing to do is search 'music in X', you'll probably get a Wiki page that may list popular singers, and you can go from there with things like last.fm or testing the waters. B) Some countries are kind enough to have dedicated Youtube channels and that may give you access to some of the latest releases. And of course you can always search for charts. Just to help focus the search if anyone needs it.
