Apparently this is going to be used in the ASDA Christmas advert and will be aired tonight during the X-Factor.

TACKY.

Tacky? How does that make it tacky? It's an excellent move to promote the song. The Score's Oh My Love almost went top 40 purely from Asda advert exposure, so that will work wonders for this song.

I can't help but think this will be very big now! It seems to be inescapable and it hasn't even premiered yet  They are doing a brilliant job hyping it up, I just hope the music lives up to that. Please deliver Fleur!
I'm so glad to hear about the ASDA deal. I doubt it will peak much higher than maybe #5 but with being on the advert over the entire Christmas period, hopefully it will be able to become a long running hit.

Using a budget supermarket to launch a new artist is not the right kind of image for Fleur East is it really?

The Score are hardly 'major big star' material and the hit single missing the Top 40 kind of proves that. It will no doubt lead to a lot of promotion however, so if you want that (and not the credibility) then fine.

Looks like I'll be hearing this a lot at work. The preview sounds okay, nothing amazing but it could become an ear worm I guess!

I don't really think "credibility" is what they're going for with this :P The Score missed the top 40, sure, but Fleur will have big promotion and hopefully some airplay to back up the ad so it's not quite the same situation. It will benefit the song regardless and that's what the aim surely is.

Maybe I'm being a bit of a snob then, but Fleur East is definitely more Waitrose than Asda. At least she's not ALDI I guess.

Oh well I look forward to hearing it whilst doing my weekly shop, and I will take back everything I've said when it becomes a bonafide ~smasher~

wow at this amazing release strategy!! they're really trying to ensure this has a high chart debut whilst making it OA/OS. I can definitely see it debuting top 20/eventually going top 10 anyway.

Mate, we're going up in the world!

The sax break sort of reminds me of Would You by Touch and Go. That was all over retail ad campaigns in the late 90s too.

This really is inescapable (and it's not even premièred yet HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!). I was just watching a programme then with a couple of other tabs open and the 90 second preview started playing out of nowhere, it wasn't on the programme and none of the tabs were saying they were playing a sound.

I'm scared. They've infiltrated my laptop.

Great promotion/hype-building already! Really looking forward to hearing it in full.
I understand the claims I've been seeing that ASDA is cheap/tacky, as it is known for being an unethical and budget supermarket. But, it'll be sure to help the song out hugely - they'd have been silly to have passed up such an opportunity, especially for a yet to be established artist.

Wow first time I heard the song and it is great, what a smash  :cheer:

But this is a 100% pop tune, I don't get why it is in the R&B & Urban forum  I feel like people are put in here based on their skin color and not what the music is like. "Sax" is a pop gem :)

the song is out there? Or do you mean the clips?

Also not at all. She was put in here before we knew anything about 'Sax'. We kinda had a feeling she'd be doing a Mark Ronson-lite route so we put her in here as that's where he is (who btw is White). I agree this should perhaps be moved but we'll wait to hear the album.

I heard it in full in her live performance : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzRC6IEkp6Q

It's no HQ of course but it's still very en joyable

Fantastic live performance and the song does indeed sound great.

Only thing I would say is I wanted the choreography for the sax breakdown to be even more full out and crazy :(

Oh my god it sounds even more incredible there - cannot wait to hear it in full
