And because of the record label. "Fester Skank" was released by Universal and it became a hit. All the others which were released by Stay Dench only lasted a week in the top 40

Fester Skank was on the A List on Radio 1 as well but this new song isn't on the playlist at all.

Just think that without Adele, Ariana would've hit #1 on iTunes for several hours - I think that's pretty incredible as you don't see Demi or Selena doing that (I hate to bring them into it but they all have similar fanbases from being former child stars). The last time Ariana had an OA/OS release here was sort of 'Break Free' in terms of that being just put on iTunes randomly (albeit a few weeks after premiere) and that only peaked at around #6/#7 on iTunes so I think 'Focus' is doing a pretty fab job so far!

 

Sorry, Ariana became a much bigger popstar last era than Demi or Selena have ever managed to become, at least outside of the US. All Ariana needs is another big era for her to be considered as one of the top pop girls, I don't think anyone would really suggest that Demi or Selena were anywhere near that. Ariana should be able to outsell them by a mile.

And in all fairness, Selena didn't get higher than the low top 20 with Good For You upon release so Ariana *is* doing considerably better. It was always going to fall quite quickly though because she has a large fanbase who will have all bought it in the first day. It's essentially doing what an OA/OS 1D release would do, on a slightly smaller scale ~

So Ben Haenow is starting off at #19 before the X Factor performance tonight.

 

Should definitely shoot up to at least #06 relatively quickly I would think. I wonder how high it will end up, I think people may react reasonably well to the song who don't even know of its existence yet.

He hasn't plummeted which I guess is a good sign considering the usual XF male winners do ;)
