November 9, 201510 yr Elvis keep that pelvis far from us please! <_< I was a bit surprised to see Love Me Like You so high at #12. So, just read that there is streaming data missing. Well, maybe it will end up at #15 on Friday I don't know. I am loving this era of LM. I had gone off track, but they are making great and relevant pop. Hair, BM and LMLY are all wonderful.
November 9, 201510 yr She's just gone back to her old record label and this is a way of getting her face out there. It's a bit much to say she doesn't deserve it. I don;t think I'd even have recognised her face from that cover though.
November 9, 201510 yr I'm impressed with those sales for Little Mix, I didn't think it would sell nearly 35k in three days! :o It's even more impressive when you consider 'Salute' only sold 35,281 in its first week. It would be great if 'Get Weird' could beat the 'DNA' peak and its first week sales of 53,314. I think it has a good chance of doing both.
November 10, 201510 yr Ouch at the fall for Def Leppard but i expected it. Little Mix doing great and in with a chance of their best opening sales, its annoying to see Elvis keep of the top spot.
November 10, 201510 yr Ellie is way exceeding Halcyon's debut week, seems just that the competition is too tough for #1 peak (for now at least) Edited November 10, 201510 yr by SKOB
November 10, 201510 yr I KNEW LM would beat Ellie, there is a lot more hype and discussion around them at the minute. Good for them, but shame it looks like it will be #2. GO AWAY ELVIS  How very dare you.http://www.en.kolobok.us/smiles/artists/just_cuz/JC_spank.gif
November 10, 201510 yr Sax is doing really well and a #2 placing looks locked on if the streaming holds up. Little Mix are doing really well too. It's little wonder Fleur is doing better than Ben. She has a more commercial/radio friendly song, and it's clear by when she performed the song on X Factor that she's being prioritised. Ben performed his single at ~22:15 on a Saturday night, and on Halloween, when only about 4 million viewers were watching compared to 6 million 15 minutes prior. Compare that to Fleur who performed her song in front of nearly 7 million viewers on the Sunday result show.
November 10, 201510 yr Ellie is way exceeding Halcyon's debut week, seems just that the competition is too tough for #1 peak (for now at least) That comparison is a bit meaningless, seeing she is now an established star with significant radio/label support behind her [unlike Halcyon]. Her star seems to be fading in the UK, but she is still doing well elsewhere especially in the US.

I think it'll be around 45 - 50k, which of course still very good.

November 10, 201510 yr I can't see them getting DNA's opening sales. I think it'll be around 45 - 50k, which of course still very good. There's no doubt GW's sales will slow down now. I still hope it can break the 50k barrier at least.
November 10, 201510 yr Her star seems to be fading in the UK, but she is still doing well elsewhere especially in the US. Artists don't go from peaking to fading away within a single year. She's still the most relevant she's ever been; she's doing badly because she's asking people to buy shit music.

Her star seems to be fading in the UK, but she is still doing well elsewhere especially in the US. That comparison isn't "meaningless" at all! She had significant AirPlay and label support since before lights went double platinum! Unless I'm not remembering clearly, Anything Could Happen, Your Song and Starry Eyed were all hammered by radio stations. Edited November 10, 201510 yr by NellyEverySundae
November 10, 201510 yr I don;t think I'd even have recognised her face from that cover though. Her face looks about the same as it's always done. It's a shame that there's not a banner with her name in big letters right underneath it to let people know who it is, oh wait....
November 10, 201510 yr Unless I'm not remembering clearly, Anything Could Happen, Your Song and Starry Eyed were all hammered by radio stations. Youre not remembering clearly. ;)
November 10, 201510 yr Author Youre not remembering clearly. ;) No, he is. Ellie had massive support for those songs! Particularly Your Song.
November 10, 201510 yr No, he is. Ellie had massive support for those songs! Particularly Your Song. Nah, Your Song was the best supported but she has only hit the top echelon following Burn.
November 10, 201510 yr Ellie won the BBC Sound of 2010 poll so she's had heavy support from the get-go. This is nothing new. Burn elevated her star status but her level of support from radio hasn't changed.
