It'd be very impressive for Fleur to get a top 10 album considering she'd probably need to sell nearly 40k to manage it, although I do think she'll end up closer to #15 - which will still probably be 25-30k sales and fantastic for someone whose promotional campaign has been centred so so heavily around a single song.

Coldplay are doing the Super Bowl next Feb, does it have an effect in the UK??

Not much. It's in the middle of the night, so doesn't get a particularly big audience.

She has released instant grats that can be download separate, it is just they haven't taken off. Not to mention the TV advert pimps Uptown Funk as well. Most albums these days are released off the back of 1 single and some instant grats.

Are people seriously trying to argue Kylie is more relevant than Bublé right now :')

Kylie's album is doing very well for what it is. Christmas albums very rarely do much better than hers has. Bublé's 'Christmas' is an exception, not the rule.

In the UK yes I will.

Indeed, and you are right that they haven't done too well hence suggesting that she doesn't have the core fanbase to sell an album after just one single which is why I'm surprised she is sitting in the top 10 in such a high sales climate (relative to the rest of the year). Most new artists tend to release more than 1 single before an album these days, even most previous X Factor acts such as Ella Henderson, James Arthur, Little Mix and Amelia Lily (if the follow-up singles had been successes too). So for Fleur to have not used this strategy surprised me, and I'm further surprised it seems to be paying off!

Surprised that Sigala has managed to hold on to number 2 despite the huge streaming disadvantage - should slip to 4 by Friday. Sadly it doesn't look like he'll be number 1 on sales-only so we can see MoS throw their toys out of the pram about not being the official #1. :(
Seeing as Sigala won't get #1 on Friday, let's make it a contender for Xmas #1 so X Factor doesn't hog the top for a second week
Good to see the Christmas songs dong well - I'm sure they are getting a boost from streaming but also from Google Play where loads are 19p to download (The Pogues, Mariah, Leona, Wham etc,)
On the Buble vs Kylie thing I think Buble's Xmas album really made labels start to release Xmas albums again as we've seen a slew of them since 2010 with Rod, Leona & now Kylie so it's possibly a case of people becoming board with them!

I'm gutted Fleur wont make the top 5, I'm just hoping she manages to stay top 10, I'm still hopeful.

40k would be fantastic, I still think this will stick around for a bit.

I have a sneaky feeling she will be back for the Final of the X Factor (She has mentioned about a duet with Reggie and Bollie).

Buble has done exceptionally well with his Christmas album. Rod Stewart done well too, Leona did ok but i expected it to do a little better and contrast i didn't expect Kylie to do as well as she has done. I'm surprised the Killers haven't released Christmas album as they have released nearly enough singles to release a full Christmas album.

In general, im not a fan of Christmas albums, i bought Kylie as im life long fan, but i bought that more to keep my Kylie collection complete. In general i never buy them. I love some of the classic Christmas songs and none of the covers compare. Leona to be fair to her is prob my 2nd favourite Christmas song released in recent years with the exception of the Killers Cowboy Christmas Ball which i love, they are the only 2 recent Christmas songs i can honestly say i really enjoy.

The chart cuts off on Thursday... XF final is Saturday/Sunday.

There's still no chance for Coldplay tbh. It's not 2009 anymore, the X Factor is nowhere near as powerful. Adele will be perched at the top.

In the UK yes I will.

Last time Kylie was doing Bublé's numbers (in the UK) was in 1987. She is a hugely well-liked figure but c'mon....

Seriously, you must be really joking. Kylie is at least 10 times more famous than Michael Buble, she has many multi-million selling albums and she's very popular all over the world, except the US... She is even popular is Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.... Ur comments are in no way relevant... Michael Buble is at best a good singer but he hasn't had sny sizeable international hit, while Kylie had so many over the years...

Buble is not more relevant in UK than Kylie........ he comes out at Xmas and gets an Xfactor/Strictly role and that's it and sells off one album.

Kylie is a legend of UK pop music. singles, albums, dvds, concerts, tabloid A-lister regardless of a few dwindling sales because a 47 year old woman doesn't get played on radio. Her longevity in the business shows her iconic status in the UK....... rest of the world not so much, but UK still an A-lister.

You're wrong dear , Kylie is popular everywhere in the world except the US, she's not just a UK act, her tours reach Asia, Latin America, all of Europe and the Middle East & she manages to sell out venues everywhere, her songs reach the top 10 in at least 25-40 different countries, so ur comment is not really accurate...

maybe someone can start a separate thread, who's more popular kylie vs buble, not to ruin the mids thread
Well Bublé has sold just as many albums as Kylie Minogue, if not more (in the UK at least).

Quite frankly an album going gold in the current market is a success. Michael has been more relevant than her the last 5 or so years, so it's to be expected that he's managed to outsell her and his Christmas album has become a classic so to speak.

Buble's total worldwide sales stand at 30 million according to stats, including 18 million sales in the US alone, so his worldwide non US sales are just 12 million.... Kylie has sold 80 million worldwide and that without having to sell almost anything in the US.... Do the math...

I feel like the entire point of this discussion has gone out of the window. Let's move on now please.

Kylie sold zero singles in 1987 in the UK. -_-
