Second Hand Heart is a solid pop song. Very catchy,radio friendly and also having Kelly Clarkson. I had thought it would do better, while it missed the top 20, sales must be near 140,000? It is obvious Syco will drop him, Simon has constantly been referring to Fleur East on this years show and mentions Ben as an after thought. Its disappointing as Ben has delivered a solid debut album.

I think he will get dropped, unless a second single takes off but was just saying on the X Factor performance thread, if Fleur's album doesn't make Top Ten and plummets second week (very possible) will her future be any more secure than Ben's? Ben doesn't have the hit single to go alongside a flop album (top 10 yes but it's barely held up).

That's what's disappointing also - The single sold ok and potentially go Silver but in the eyes of the media it's a flop that failed to go Top 20, Would be surprised to see another single from this album now.

No tongue poking I was asking a valid question :) Sax has done well but will that make the record company any money? Its been relentless from Syco and X factor with Fleur this last couple of months, like she going to be a superstar. Surely they would have expected much better for the album? Ben had little or no backing and a shocking release strategy and made the top 10 (I realise given the week Fleurs is out it will probably sell more than Ben's first week) but still. If she can't sell in Q4 with all that promo/saturation/hype I'm not sure the album will have any staying power without it. Fleur is Simon's fav at the moment but that can change very quickly.

I agree - So much hype about Fleur and yes she has had a big hit single (So have acts like Amelia Lily etc, though!) - Her career will be in as much danger as Ben's if she has an album chart run of 14-56-Out.

December 9, 201510 yr I think Fleur's album stands a better chance at a recovery in the future as 'Sax' being a hit puts her in better stead with a future single, although I do think it's a bit of a poor result for its initial opening. Edited December 9, 201510 yr by mr_pmt
December 9, 201510 yr You'd think chart positions would be more important to them because all their other albums reached #1 Why would you think that? I don't presume to know what they think at all. Certainly not what any of us would prefer.
