The charming and delicate 'Wait A Minute' was a surprising but subtle effort which combined the best of blogpop sensibilities with raw emotion to give a sleek but affected result. Cadelicia are one of those nations that are completely consistent, and despite switching up their styles several times during the year, they always deliver a great track. The 'Lean On'-esque 'DTTM (Don't Talk To Me)' took our top points in BJSC 79 and is the highest of the Cadelician entries this year. Tartford's underdog Cigarettes After Sex entry from the most recent contest only continues to grow, sneaking just inside the Top 50 as well as snatching a surprise qualification / final result in its contest. The first of three from N DNTN is the charming iamamiwhoami / ABBA-esque hybrid 'Scandinavia' from the ever underrated Merely, which was a complete return to form for the nation and unjustly DNQ'ed in BJSC 75. Daehun also bring the first of three entries with 'Play', which is the top ranking J/K-pop hit in this countdown and had one of the best videos of any entry this year, chanelling complete Sims vibes.

Christina Novelli] BJSC 73 · 42 · N DNTN // Planningtorock - Human Drama BJSC 79 · 41 · Kylienips // Meg Myers - Sorry BJSC 75 Séyetana's sole entry in this list is a candy dance wonder from the world of My Little Pony that is so cute and crafted that it could pass as a completely serious composition. A very fitting entry for the nation going by the member behind it, which unfortunately saw them barely DNQ'ing. The hype for it has built throughout the year and I'm sure it's now a top choice to steal the BJSC TBO: Rejects crown. Ramrynia's self-recycle was one of the cheeriest and carefree pieces of music you'll hear this year, and surprised me by nearing the top points mark in its contest. Mulgracia also suffered from an unjust DNQ in BJSC 73 where the track was tipped for final success, only to bomb, but the infectious subtlety of the track still lingers with me to this day. N DNTN suffered from yet more racism towards their nation as the gorgeous 'Human Drama' fell at the semi hurdle despite it being a beautiful and dramatic exploration of gender, however this section does end on a high note of Kylienips first win which was an aggressive pop-rock grenade which made not only a massive impact on me but many more of the participating nations this year, and is definitely one of the most memorable winners in the contest's history.

A*M*E) BJSC 75 This section shows the funkier side of the contest. We kick off with club supergroup Club cheval giving us a completely quintessential Espen moment, whilst Utopia's moment here could be described as a complete 180 for them. The latter's booty-dropping urban dance mash-up gave a rare return to form success and quality wise for the nation back in BJSC 72. Republic Of Adonia once again had their finger on the chart pulse, sending a [then] future hit in 'Intoxicated' - another addictive slice of groovy French house. Cumulonimbia put themselves on the map again with the gorgeous 'Pick You Up' which became a bit of a contender at the start of the year for them, whilst #00274E shake off A*M*E's veto curse to bring you a dark and musky house anthem which stormed its way to success in BJSC 75, and is much better enjoyed in its full-length version.
