Apologies - The amount of off topic and in-house jokes/discussions on here it's easy to forget which thread you are in.

I for one would be cool with NHS taking it. There have been far too many snide/smug posts on here claiming that "they don't have a chance", "Justin has 10000% got in the bag" etc...I found those posts funny because NHS have been actively campaigning from the beginning of the week, so, even before they re-took the lead on iTunes, it should never have been assumed that they were just going to sit back and not put up a fight, given they have been very active in their campaign to get to number 1. Meanwhile Justin probably could not care any less so is not benefitting as much from the "campaign" aspect of it.

Because Justin will have a load of streaming sales missing, and there's no guarantee NHS Choir are going to hold up on iTunes the way they are doing until the Friday cut-off.

Yes. It's called creating interest. It's slightly misleading but I suppose it's all they have at the moment.

I actually find this xmas chart 'race' a bit depressing. The xmas #1 has come down to a pointless choir song that is really the only song/attempt to actually get the xmas #1 against a song the artist probably doesn't even know or care it might be #1.

I can only but agree. Additionally, both songs i dislike, and sales for both appear to be rubbish. Non event really.
