The BBC News at 10 this evening played out with 'Heroes' alongside images from Bowie, so that'll no doubt give it an extra boost.

Someone whip up a combined chart so we can see how well he's doing overall :P

Combined/Weighted

David Bowie - Heroes 1.000

Shawn Mendes - Stiches 0.877

Justin Bieber - Love Yourself 0.867

Shawn is now ahead of Justin combined. David having another big update and pushing into the #1 spot. Once you take into account his other versions outside the top 100, he's likely ahead by a bit more.

13% lead prob 15-20 with the other versions, prob nowhere near enough as they'll fall away later tomorrow but plenty on top 40 entries with streaming into tomorrow to come!

If my counting is correct, 37 of the top 100 on the latest Kworb update are Bowie songs.

X Ambassadors' "Renegades" the only non-Bowie track even in pale green.

Also there are a few documentaries on TV showing his work and music, that I have recorded, his lead is only going to increase, and the lead up to his final resting place, so I imagine Heroes can still do the impossible. I would love to see Heroes at #1.

Finally someone is going to have a bad day on Friday ripping out the sales info :( -_- Alan Jones will be tearing his hair out. :(

39, including two versions of Under pressure.

David Bowie currently has:

16 songs top 40

38 songs top 100

76 songs top 200

203 songs top 1500

Not combining duplicates and including "Under Pressure" (with Queen).

Nah this boost will be big for a good few days yet, lots of press coverage still to come, his funeral etc. He's definitely a contender for the number 1 spot and he has a real chance. The Cascada scenario might play out again mind I rate his chances as pretty good.

Is Bieber's record of 8 songs charting in the top 40 under threat?

Current YouTube viewcount for Lazarus: 2,368,611

It will be interesting to see what the view count will be by the end of today.

New YouTube view count: 6,000,004

Heroes would be such a brilliant number one, particularly making up for the fact that a dreadful cover of it got there and the original didn't get anywhere near! I don't feel Bowie's streaming will be that bad either, people will pay a tribute by listening as well as buying.

Oh wow and it's likely higher than that as youtube normally takes a while to update the viewing figures.

I'm all here for Bowie rolling the chart on Friday, please be number 1 on the singles chart. Legend deserved all of this love!
Why do you keep insisting on posting pointless updates on this?

Because I want to. And because some numptys on Twitter and YouTube have confused the geezer who made House Every Weekend for David Bowie

tbh this is the iTunes chart after all so no update is pointless. It certainly serves more of a purpose than just words being typed in this thread.

Also there are a few documentaries on TV showing his work and music, that I have recorded, his lead is only going to increase, and the lead up to his final resting place, so I imagine Heroes can still do the impossible. I would love to see Heroes at #1.

I'm certainly happier seeing Bowie dominate the chart, than Bieber!
