Jake Bugg has announced his return with a third studio album in the pipeline.

Speaking about his next album, Bugg previously said the music was "hip-hop inspired and groove-based."

Bugg revealed in 2015 that he had worked with Beastie Boys' Mike D on his third record and that the upcoming effort is "entirely self-written and almost entirely self-produced".

Bugg said the difference between the new album and its predecessor is the "grooves", adding: "There's songs people can actually dance to. I've been listening to [uK station]Smooth Radio. Those songs from the '70s, there was a warmth about them that you don't get in pop nowadays."

To kick things off, 'On My One' was premiered on Annie Mac's show on Radio 1 on February 15th.

On My One sounds good! Excited for this and thinking/hoping this could be the big era for him. I'm getting Arctic Monkeys 'AM' vibes!
That first faster is fantastic, really love his slower ballads!

Gimme the Love is sounding really good to my ears!

I prefer Gimme The Love to On My One, but anything nee from Jake Bugg is welcome.

Can anyone tell me whether 'On my one" is a Nottingham expression?

Yep! Surprised he hasn't written a song called "Aup Me Duck" tbh!

That's a really nice ballad. Looking forward to the album, although I've got a feeling it won't do as well as the first two.
No a huge fan of Jake Bugg, he emphasises his northerness too much. I'm northern and nobody naturally sings like that.
Love, Hope and Misery is the best thing I've heard so far this era, I love his ballads  My favourite from the debut was Broken and A Song About Love is my fave from Shangri La as well as my overall fave of his so no wonder I like this :kink:

They're my two favourites as well! This is definitely the best from what I've heard this era but it's still not impacting on me as much as I want it to. I don't know why but Jake has lost his spark this era for me; I'm just not feeling any of the music despite it being a similar sound to his previous two albums.

I really love what I've heard so far - I thought Gimme the Love sounded a lot more pop for him and it sounded really good!
