This would have been a big hit however it was released based on the fact it was already charting on streaming alone anyway, and is another similar and commercial sounding follow-up to 2 previous big hits. It's not the 'correct decision' just because it didn't cause it to bomb.

Agree with Bre, this Sigala song would have been a hit either way, it might have missed out on a better peak, but I don't think it would have made much difference.

Tricky one with Say You Do. I feel had it been released OA/OS it would have a longer chart run but on the flipside would never have got near to challenging for #1 as it's sales would have been too spread over a longer timeframe (think Firestone). All speculation of course.

On the contrary Shawn Mendes - Stitches or Mike Posner could get to number 1 although both were already out for months.

Say You Do would've been a hit regardless. It may not end up with as high a peak with OA/OS but I'm sure it would've gone top 10. Sigala is a big enough name for radio to instantly back with an OA/OS release too.

Although I fully expect Sigala to be no1 Come Monday's mids due to the held back pre order sales it's still 15% behind Mike Posner which has been released on air so I don't understand your point?

i see no reason why 'say you do' wouldn't have zoomed up iTunes, like blonde/craig david this week, had it dropped oa/os ~ allowing hits to grow organically allows download sales and streams to fall into sync which arguably provides a better chance of reaching #1 than the all your eggs in one basket MOS strategy~
