March 22, 201610 yr Another thing of note: Lawson aren't even top 200 :o I thought they'd sell enough physical bundles to at least make the top 200! Oh dear.
March 22, 201610 yr Another thing of note: Lawson aren't even top 200 :o I thought they'd sell enough physical bundles to at least make the top 200! Oh dear. I'm genuinely baffled by this? Especially considering how many fans had tweeted them with screenshots of their pre-order confirmations a couple of weeks ago. Unless the bundles are ineligible for the chart for whatever reason? I also initially thought they would top the physical chart with ease regardless of what happens, but then I remembered that Pet Shop Boys single is out, which is certain to get it.
March 23, 201610 yr Author I think Lawson may have realised it was flopping and made it chart ineligible. As bad a sales would be, I'm sure they managed pre-orders/physicals enough to make Monday's midweeks with around 1000 copies.

I still never figured out exactly *how* she made it chart ineligible, surely it's not up to her or even her label to decide?

Therefore, if you don't want a release to count, you simply don't register it.
March 23, 201610 yr Alesha also independently released that single, so it would have probably been an easier process for her.
March 23, 201610 yr Isn't Michael Jackson's Off the Wall anywhere to be seen? :( The BBC2 documentary that was on the other night got the album into the iTunes top 10 but I guess that doesn't count much for the chart.

March 23, 201610 yr It would be just wonderful if Blonde & Craig David can get to the top 10. I never foreseen Graig David achieving 2 top 15 hits again, 2 top 10 hits would be even better. I hope his new album can perform reasonably well. Enya's album is showing good staying power and building impressive sales. While i understand her sales are just over 200,000 it would be wonderful if the album could eventually achieve a platinum status.
March 23, 201610 yr I wonder if streaming or the NOW 93 effect is what has caused that depressing drivel to climb back to #2? On the albums, hope Zayn can knock Adele off next week Edited March 23, 201610 yr by Hadji
March 23, 201610 yr Would appreciate the position of Elvis' 'If I Can Dream' album please. Many Thanks. Brian
March 23, 201610 yr I'm pretty sure Sigala would have gone top-5 with an OA/OS release so MoS did damage to themselves tbh.
March 23, 201610 yr Author I'm pretty sure Sigala would have gone top-5 with an OA/OS release so MoS did damage to themselves tbh. I don't think it would have - might not have even made the top 10, there seems to be less hype for this one, though it's still popular.
March 23, 201610 yr Does anyone think we'll ever get a song spending 15 weeks at number one like Wet Wet Wet did? I wonder how it could have even been possible for them to that, there must have almost no new releases during that time.

I wonder how it could have even been possible for them to that, there must have almost no new releases during that time. If Wet Wet Wet could do it once, in fact in a time, where I think it was more difficult (because you had to have Physicals throughout this time available and in big quantities) it isn't impossible even in this time. The more influence streaming will have on the chart, the better the chances of a long running number 1. I think you lost a bit your views on the chart. New releases enter now quite rarely at number 1. One more thing: Why do you ask a question about the official chart in the iTunes thread? (post moved btw)

(post moved btw) Yeah maybe now new releases don't enter much at number one but in the 90's most of the number one's were newly released songs. Apologies for asking the original question in the iTunes thread.
March 23, 201610 yr That sucks for Sigala then :( At least getting another top 3 is quite an impressive feat, not to mention the strength of the top 2 right now.
