this is MoS we're talking about. The same label that refused to put their releases on Spotify until streaming started to count towards the chart. So desperate for high chart positions :')

It's a shame that labels still feel like that in the current climate really. When everyone else is going OA/OS, holding back feels like cheating to get a high chart position now (it didn't feel that way when everyone did it because it was a level playing field, in my opinion at least!). Sigala is an established name now and he would get support instantly for an OA/OS release anyway I'm sure.

O.M.G. Hold the front page... Rick Astley  *.*

I think there is a chance "The Voice" Winner's Single may get to the top of iTunes chart on Sunday or Monday if last year's performance is anything to go by.

The viewing figures have gone down in this Fifth Series but there are still a few good singers in the Final and it would be quite a story if Kevin Simm wins.

Last year's winner had the advantage of the regional sales (number 1 in Scotland) but if they get the Song right it could do well in what is a relatively low-Sales week.

Even if it does top the iTunes chart it's bound to do worse in the chart than Stevie McCrorie simply due to streaming having a larger proportion of chart sales now and the winner obviously won't have good streaming.

Agreed, a Top 20 placing is probably the best it will be able to achieve.

For a moment there i thought The mail on sunday had a record label :P

Would be good if the voice had the same effect for its contestants as it does in other countries as there are some extremely talented singers

Actually this was out last Friday and reached around #97 last Friday but interesting to see why it has climbed so much suddenly :o

Y&Y - Desire doing very well, up to #22

what? That's strange, maybe people though it was a new release

All 4 of The Voice finalists will be releasing their version of the single, which is an original this year! A couple might make the top 40 on itunes, the winner maybe like #23 officially? Streaming will obviously hurt it as has been said.

No its just the winner who will have their version released according to the BBC. But it will be released to download and stream shortly after the final for the first time. Presumably we had to wait until midnight before due to the chart week starting on the Sunday

Drake sold 9930 yesterday. That's #1 with a massive lead on iTunes, and even that looks like it won't be enough to compensate for the lack of streaming which should ensure that either Mike Posner or Sia takes the #1 next week.

Sales R dead.

Where are you getting this from? Digital Sales Data estimates 12,787 sales for the last 24 hours.

He had sold a bit over 15k in the Thursday mids and ended up with around 25k! Digital Sales Data is only an estimate anyway.
It is on Pre-order on iTunes with a release date of 17th June

But it looks like it is on Apple Music though.
