Yes, but 2006 was close to the peak of UK album sales and that was right in the middle of Q4 where sales are notoriously very high.

Aerosmith sold 41,932 to be #40 the week before Christmas.

Bloody hell, that's a lot for a #40! I also recall reading a while back that Will Young sold something like 130,000~ in the run up to Christmas 2005 whilst at like #12/#13. Might be wrong though, but it was something along those lines.

that's insane!!! most #1s don't sell nearly that much these days..

Looks like the All Saints album might hang in there at number 3. I bet even they didn’t imagine that.
But look at Kevin Simms currently at 10!
oh that's very good! one of the best UK bands but so underrated!!!!
Any chances of Get Weird returning to the top 10 this week? I'd love to see them spending 20 weeks in the top 10. 3 to go
Get Weird should manage a top 10 return as it was all the new entries last week that pushed it out. I hope the decline for the Pet Shop Boys is not as deep as im expecting, for them to remain Top 20 would be wonderful, but im sensing 3-22-48-76 type chart run

The last time they managed to stay Top 20 for a 2nd week was with 'Bilingual' in 1996 - I think this will follow a similar path as 'Electric' did - 3-28-52-72-79-Never to be seen again.

Three new entries at the top of the albums!

1 Deftones

2 The Lumineers

3 All Saints

Apparently only 333 copies separate them, so by Friday the #1 will probably either be All Saints (I would imagine Deftones/Lumineers will be more frontloaded) or Adele/Lukas Graham!

For it to land between 21 and 25 would good enough, like 'Fundamental' and 'Yes' did.

I'd be truly surprised if it falls out of the Top 30 like 'Release' and 'Elysium', but it seems rather unlikely they'll fall that far.

Can see them all being pushed down with Adele leading the way closely followed by Lukas Graham with grim sales all round.

I think Adele has this in the bag. Seeing Deftones at the top has made me very happy - despite the fact they'll not hold on, although they'll definitely end up beating their previous best - #7 in 2003. The fact The Lumineers are so high is surprising, given they haven't had a hit this era like 'Ho Hey'.

Also, I know sales are low, but I'm really surprised/confused to see Placebo's 2006 album 'Meds' re-enter at #90...

Drake looks further ahead than he actually is I think, let's remember that Sia and Mike will have about 4k of streams missing from Spotify data which is always a day behind!
