The wonderful 'Like A Boy' manages third position in the rate, despite some people coming for it for a few rounds previous. I am so so glad it managed to at least come top 3 as it is by and away my favourite Ciara single. Everything about it is incredible; that violin intro still gets me so excited whenever I hear it. Accompanied with an incredible gender-playing video, with some of her best and most iconic looks/dancing ever. Such a 10/10 moment. Still to this day I have no idea why it was left to be the 3rd single from 'Ciara: The Evolution', it really should have been the lead and it may have done a tad better charts wise if it had been. I always hear it at pre-drinks for nights out and always think it is thought of pretty highly so it is always a surprise to me to remember that it only peaked at #16 in the UK and #19 over on Billboard. Should have been a #01 smash tbh.

In all seriousness, both are great, but nothing comes close to Goodies! Such a classic.

'Goodies' is ICONIC. I mean I love '1, 2 Step' but I think it's v. overrated in terms of Ciara singles.

 

'Like A Boy' is also glorious, such a jam.

I went for 'Goodies' as I return to '1,2 Step' far more and think it is slightly more fun.

'Goodies' is such a special song. Just coz it was the dawn of a new sound that could've been bigger had people capitalized on it more at that time. The cultural impact of 'Goodies' was surprisingly instant, at least for me and my friends at school etc.. It was one of the earliest memories I have of everyone wanting the same song "bluetoothed" to them :lol:

Both are very good and I don't begrudge their places in the final. I think "1, 2 Step" would be my winner. I wasn't really paying attention to music between 2003 and 2006, but it was one of the few songs to grab my attention. "Goodies" had passed me by, but I remember hearing "1, 2 Step" and getting excited about this new girl on the scene. I can't say I expected her to still be doing music 10 years later, but I'm very pleased because Ciara is awesome and consistently puts out good R&B music.
