May 14, 20169 yr Put a bet on the Eurovision Song Contest for my mum. Put £2.50 each way on Lithuania, so would get back £11 if they finish in the top 10, and £400 if they win. Do you think I'll be celebrating this evening, either way? My two favourites this evening are Georgia (which is probably a little bit too 6music for Eurovision), and the Netherlands, which is lovely. Russia probably likely to win though.
May 14, 20169 yr My prediction attempts: 01 ► Australia: Dami Im - Sound Of Silence 02 ► Russia: Sergey Lazarev - You Are The Only One 03 ► Armenia: Iveta Mukuchyan - LoveWave 04 ► Ukraine: Jamala - 1944 05 ► Sweden: Frans - If I Were Sorry 06 ► France: Amir - J'ai cherché 07 ► Lithuania: Donny Montell - I've Been Waiting For This Night 08 ► Malta: Ira Losco - Walk On Water 09 ► Bulgaria: Poli Genova - If Love Was A Crime 10 ► Austria: ZOË - Loin d'ici 11 ► Belgium: Laura Tesoro - What's The Pressure 12 ► Italy: Francesca Michielin - No Degree Of Separation 13 ► Serbia: Sanja Vučić ZAA - Goodbye (Shelter) 14 ► Croatia: Nina Kraljić - Lighthouse 15 ► The Netherlands: Douwe Bob - Slow Down 16 ► Israel: Hovi Star - Made Of Stars 17 ► Cyprus: Minus One - Alter Ego 18 ► Azerbaijan: Samra - Miracle 19 ► United Kingdom: Joe and Jake - You're Not Alone 20 ► Georgia: Nika Kocharov and Young Georgian Lolitaz - Midnight Gold 21 ► Latvia: Justs - Heartbeat 22 ► Hungary: Freddie - Pioneer 23 ► Czech Republic: Gabriela Gunčíková - I Stand 24 ► Poland: Michał Szpak - Color Of Your Life 25 ► Spain: Barei - Say Yay! 26 ► Germany: Jamie-Lee - Ghost Think Latvia and Spain will get killed by the uptempos ahead of them and being followed by Ukraine. I wouldn't be surprised if Austria did beat expectations and Bulgaria are a surprise flop as the actual performance didn't grab me despite the good song, sort of like Slovenia last year. I'm interested by the high Italy predictions as I don't really rate the song but they do seem to overpeform often
May 14, 20169 yr It's on :D high hopes for France among others. Not sure if I could pinpoint my fave yet though
May 14, 20169 yr Who's here (and playing havoc with their multitasking skills) then? Myself, finding this somewhat of a retreat from The Lounge which is a genuine MESS right now thanks to a certain few. Frans is adorable  Loving the Avicii presence here :D
May 14, 20169 yr I'm watching... naff intro, looking forward to Australia, Bulgaria, Malta, Sweden, performances, not holding out for Joe & Joke to win it tonight.
May 14, 20169 yr Absolutely loving the nod to amazing Swedish dance music from over the years  It works so well introducing the contestants - especially the final transition into Don't You Worry Child. As well as being a timely reminder of how they're currently the dance capital of the world
May 14, 20169 yr Another one Bites The Sax. Going first will hurt it, but it's a pleasant wee number.
May 14, 20169 yr Belgium - 7.7 I like this white version of Fleur East  She looks happy, I feel good vibes from her. :P
May 14, 20169 yr Belgium / Laura Tesoro - What's The Pressure / The vocals were definitely worse than the semis, even more strained than they were before, and even the dance moves weren't as slick, but obviously she's nervous. Great opener though, very catchy, obviously very derivative but still very good fun and pretty current. 7.5/10 _____________________________________________________ 01 Belgium / Laura Tesoro - What's The Pressure / 7.5/10
May 14, 20169 yr You know, I've never been a fan of Laura's song up to now but hell, I think that second performance has converted me :o Very good performance of a mediocre song on record.
May 14, 20169 yr Love the Queen intro to the opening track, that track did nothing for me, I literally don't know how that one got through.
