But do those album mids include streams? Or are they added last minute so Drake

will pass everyone again?

Never liked Ariana much but her album is great so would like to see it get the no1!

Gutted JT is unlikely to make it.

can we just take a moment to appreciate Drake potentially being the first artist to have a consecutive run of 7 weeks at #1 since Leona Lewis eight and a half years ago if he makes it this week? *.* only a true king.

It's only a good run if it passes 100k PAID FOR sales each week like "Uptown Funk" did and it managed 7 weeks without streaming

Uptown Funk wouldn't sell 100k downloads each week today either so nobody's buying that

'hold up' showing as a climber is a sure sign that there's streaming data missing~

by the same token you could say~

"It's only a good run if it passes 100k CD sales each week like cher's 'believe' did and it managed 7 weeks without downloading"

cd's are a relic of the past ~ downloads are on the way out ~ it's 2016 and most people consume their music via streaming services~ :P

You only have to beat the competition in front of you (or in Drake's case, behind him!)

Definitely only the new King of music could achieve such spectacularness.

Still a great achievement no matter what.

Must admit even as a Drake fan I'm still surprised as not massively keen on the song.

Yes they do, why would they not?

cos someone posted this:

Might be too early to say, but I reckon Drake will remain at #1 in the albums - at the current rate, Ariana is on track for 20.9k, 18.6k for Richard and 17.9k for Drake, but that's not baring in mind the fact Drake will sell at a more steady rate than the other two nor the fact Drake has streaming missing from his total (much more than the others I mean).

Agree with that. Too Good is way better than One Dance

Yeah, agreed. I know I keep saying it but I'm still completely baffled by how well One Dance has done, I just don't get what's so good about the song that the public have connected with in such a big way. Like there's no big hook or anything, and his voice is a bit annoying on it.

The general public do latch onto the strangest songs sometimes.

One Dance got straight out of the gate to #1 on iTunes, which was quite a surprise anyway considering previous singles hadn't done anywhere near as well, but to maintain such success for this long when the song has nothing particularly unique or special about it is baffling. For me though this does seem to be the year of average or merely 'quite good' songs spending an age at #1, I'm still waiting for something amazing to top the UK charts this year.

I completely agree about the success of 'One Dance'. I remember when it first went to #1 with such huge streams and combined sales yet I had barely heard the song on radio and had certainly not heard it talked about. Even now, as it approaches its 7th week at #1, I've yet to hear the song on a night out. It is a song that gets stuck in your head and I know the "less is more" thing is becoming more of a trend in chart music but even so, with no particularly big hook, it's a wonder why the public took to it quite so much.

I heard it at a house party a couple of weeks ago and nobody knew what it was, I've never heard it in public and not heard anbody talk about it.

I can only assume it's ridiculously popular with teenagers/in schools etc and their streams have made it into such a huge and enduring hit. It doesn't feel like the same sort of behemoth as Blurred Lines/Get Lucky/Happy/Uptown Funk etc at all.
