The album chart could get numerous old albums returning with the Radio 1's Big Weekend effect. Catfish & The Bottlemen are performing and they have a new album out this week, that's probably guaranteed #1 in the album chart at the end of the week, unless ABC or Fifth Harmony can nab the top spot from them. And most likely Drake for an 8th week, go on moan away, unless Justin Timberlake gets there. Clean Bandit and Louisa are performing on BGT tonight, it should enter the top 10, would like the track at #1 sadly its not going to happen, unless the track gets a big lead after her performance, we shall see. Breakdown of the week - Saturday and Sunday: Information on Twitter from MintRoyale only. Please do not make requests, we do not have any information other than what's posted. - Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm. - Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one. - Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed. - Thursday: See Tuesday. Other notes (please read) - You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod). - Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue. - Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. - To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

May 28, 20169 yr Author Mint Royale Fifth Harmony are at 3, beaten by ABC. Neil Claxton @mintroyale 15m15 minutes ago People really like Catfish and the Bottlemen don't they. Big number 1 album coming. noob @evilnoob 13m13 minutes ago @mintroyale i really hope the new Beth Orton does well. its rather lovely x Neil Claxton @evilnoob 10 so far
May 28, 20169 yr He also tweeted to someone that Flume is at #9. Nice to see Beth Orton in the Top 10 though - that should hopefully secure her a Top 20 place for Friday.
May 28, 20169 yr Not surprised to see ABC doing that well. I don't see what's so great/interesting/different about Catfish and the Bottlemen personally!
May 28, 20169 yr I don't see what's so great/interesting/different about Catfish and the Bottlemen personally! I don't even think they're that great - especially since there are so many superior British alternative/indie bands who have delivered great albums this year.
May 28, 20169 yr Not surprised to see ABC doing that well. I don't see what's so great/interesting/different about Catfish and the Bottlemen personally! Tell me about it. I'm in the audience that should enjoy them, but they've just never thrilled me. The problem is that there's a massive void in that kind of music that no-one has been able to fill in the mainstream. The Vaccines held that position for a while, but beyond some thrilling early singles they hadn't kept it up, so it falls to the likes of Catfish to take up the mantle, even though their songs can't even match to to The Vaccines, let along the indie-rock of yesteryear. I have a feeling that at some point in the next few years there will be a band that breaks through that has both the following and the songs to do what Oasis did in '94 and what the Arctic Monkeys did in '05 and blow up the genre again, but until then it'll be in the doldrums and we'll be left with also-rans like Catfish, Royal Blood & the like.
May 28, 20169 yr Bastille's comeback this year could have the same effect if they make another 'Pompeii' chart-success wise
May 28, 20169 yr I can see Ariana's album potentially falling out of the top 10. :( Possibly, due to Big Weekend on top of the big new album releases, but it seemed to be selling at a steady rate throughout last week and had very good streams so I imagine it could work its way back up the charts throughout the mids. I hope so anyway, I've had enough of one weekers completely collapsing down the chart.
May 29, 20169 yr Clean bandit will end up 20th Would still be about 50 places too high - Really not getting the love for it! Looking like it could become a big hit now though :nocheer:
May 29, 20169 yr Tears sound pretty dated. Melodically, could've been in the ESC 30 years ago so it's obviously something that Popjustice loves.
May 29, 20169 yr Would still be about 50 places too high - Really not getting the love for it! Looking like it could become a big hit now though :nocheer: I doubt it, nobody is actually listening to it. Spotify numbers halved yesterday, a minor boost from the TV appearance on the sales chart yes but sales account for a very tiny amount thesedays.
May 29, 20169 yr Work From Home is still riding high so they didn't really need another one before the album. Besies, I imagine that All In My Head (Flex) will be impacting soon!
