I Predict A Slow Descent !

Heard that Gold song by Kiarra yesterday and oh my god what a load of f***ing irritating shite.

Unpopular opinion, but I like the new Kaiser Cheifs single. It's certainly better than anything else they've done over the past few years!
Tom Odell for top 10 please! As far as I know it'll be his third iTunes top 10 after Another Love and Real Love - am I right? I believe Another Love peaked at #10 for a little while and Real Love around #3???
It would indeed! :D I think Another Love got a bit higher than #10 on iTunes but its official peak was #10. Real Love got to about #2 on its Friday release, charting at #21 that Sunday with a climb to #7 the week after :D None of his other singles have come even close to the top 10!
 19. Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better :cheer: he needs to release the music video!

177 Two Door Cinema Club Are We Ready? (Wreck)

Callum Scott has released an official video for DOMO so I assume we'll see some form of boost for that again. Is this the longest single campaign, ever?

I think he has finally signed up a record deal, hence the video...

why forcing a Friday release date and moving the charts to Friday etc

if most singles are released mid-week

Two Door Cinema Club, Kaiser Chiefs and now also Disclosure, released today...

A Friday release date isn't forced, just like the Sunday one wasn't. It's just what most labels would prefer because it gives the best chart advantage. There is nothing to stop artists releasing mid-week, it's certainly not "most singles" anyway, a small minority in fact.

i know of course they're not obliged

but don't think it's a minority of releases that go out midweek either

With the Sunday release we had much much more singles released midweeks and not on a Sunday, so imo it's better now.

Mostly midweek releases are instant grats anyway.

Ahh probably a mix of both! Thanks guys :D Amazing how promo has helped it so much, more than heavy Radio 1 airplay ever did. Could be top 10 on iTunes if he still had that airplay this week :(

Exactly why we need TOTPs to make a comeback especially now the charts are like the 70s/80s again!

When a big artist returns like Disclosure, Two Door Cinema or Bastille like this week most will chart high on itunes and peak low officially and then drop like a stone until airplay kicks in so better with this release and then a rise up the chart if the song connects with the public imo.

Very few actual hits peak in their first week now anyway so the day of release is really a non-issue. (Of course fanbase purchases will still peak first week but they don't get very high up the chart any more anyway).
