June 13, 201610 yr Oh finally that non event is leaving the top spot? Hooray, Kungs isn't particularly standout from that genre, but it's a nice summer track and I'm content with it being number 1. Love that new Stone Roses song as well, would be great if that can hold top 10 due to them releasing on a Friday this time, but somewhat unlikely I suppose. Great to see Dua Lipa looking like a first top 40 hit too, but shame it's with her weakest one yet... Edited June 13, 201610 yr by Chez Wombat
June 13, 201610 yr I think Drake will climb back to #2 once all the streaming data is added. Great to see that Kungs will be knocking him off the #1 spot this week though :cheer: Good to see Guetta and Dua Lipa well inside the top 40 too
June 13, 201610 yr There's definitely streaming missing but I wouldn't think there'd be "tonnes", probably the usual day or so going by where Hold Up is. at least 2 days ~ i mean you only have to look at the album positions of drake (11) and justin bieber (24) to know there's way more streaming data missing than usual~ :P
June 13, 201610 yr Was hoping Drake could manage a 10th week at the top to at least match Rihanna's "Umbrella", but 9 weeks is still an achievement if Kungs do snatch it this week. I wonder how long "This Girl" will stay at number-one though - could well be a few weeks, unless Sigala's "Give Me Your Love" or Bastille's OA/OS comeback do amazingly.
June 13, 201610 yr come on Tom Odell hang in there!!!! Read on FB he's on 12K Paul Simon was on approx 12k last Monday and finished the week just over 19k, suspect that sort of number will be enough for Tom Odell to secure number 1.
June 13, 201610 yr Impressive from ELO at number 4 considering Album has been out for 11 years and boost seems to be from Vinyl Release... As Jeff Lynne's ELO are performing at Glastonbury this could hold up in the Top 20 over the coming weeks. Plus some sales will be from prime time TV advertising on ITV. I expect Sigala to get to around #5, probably do similarly to the Clean Bandit track did in its first week however its streaming is very good so that will give it a boost. Bastille to debut top 5 as well? Could happen - will more than likely get to number one on iTunes as they not only will have a lot of fanbase buys, they also have a huge public interest range. Maybe I'm being optimistic though. :D
June 13, 201610 yr Tom Odell should be safe for #1 then if he's now overtaken Rick Astley; he'll probably sell more consistently and I imagine he'll have 2 or 3k worth of streams by the end of the week. Complete wtf moment at ELO being Top 5; if it is due to a new vinyl release, I had no idea about it. Couldn't come at a better time though - as of today, its total stands at 986k so will easily be a million seller before the month is out. I wouldn't rule out the album going to #1 after their Glastonbury performance, given a heritage act usually gets a significant boost each year. The album chart looks very messy atm but it should sort itself out by the end of the week as per, with most of the new entries falling and streaming-heavy albums (Jess, Justin, Ariana, Drake etc.) climbing back up.
June 13, 201610 yr Another oddity with the Midweek Album chart is Ed Sheeran's 'x' down to 41. Last week it got to 15 and whilst it will definitely rise as the week goes on (as some of the new releases drop back) that is quite a drop given how stable it has been for 2 years (has last week's publicity had an adverse effect? Probably not but such a drop is a surprise)
June 13, 201610 yr Author Oops, looks like Ethan was right! :heehee: Saturday and Sunday Spotify data missing!
June 13, 201610 yr Very unexpected drop for Ed Sheeran, data must be missing, like the Little Mix album position i predict both will recover as the week progresses. It would delightful if both Rick Astley and Beverley Knight can hold their current positions, i expect Beverley to drop more than Rick as the week moves forward. For both, i will unfortunately make an early prediction will experience huge drops next week.
June 13, 201610 yr Does Radio 1 still do a Chart Update? I tried searching on the iPlayer for one and it doesn't seem like there's been one for about a year, but I seem to recall listening to one recently.
June 13, 201610 yr Author It takes place from 5:30 to 5:45 in Greg James' show just before Newsbeat every Monday, they recap #10-4 and then play the top 3, very minimal effort really :(
June 13, 201610 yr Beverley is holding up well when you compare her against some of the acts with new albums such as Nick Jonas. Considering her lack of relevance these days i am happy with how she is performing so far.

Just wanted to tune in to see whether they played Stone Roses' in full given that it's #3 in the midweek at the moment. They appear to have done so (or close to it, given that it's 7 minutes).
