Rashford was great when he came on too.

 

We should beat Slovakia now to earn a more favorable draw in the round of 16.

 

He was a bit like a kid in a sweetshop, but he was lively, which was what we needed.

Really promising in patches from us today but our end product again wasn't good enough, Kyle Walker seems to have a force against him preventing the ball from leaving his feet.

Lallana was great as well, created some of the only good moments for England in the first half.

Walker was immense down the right hand side today, particularly in the second half. Just needs little better ball delivery but he stretched the Welsh defence well.

A bit of a shame for me but to be honest England played so much better. They really were unlucky not to be quite a few goals ahead at half time. I love Wales and am ecstatic that they're in the tournament, have won a game and even scored passed England but they just aren't that good at football. I hope they can still get through as it'd be such a triumph. Anyone but Russia tbh.

 

And I'm happy that England got a win because they played so well in both games but people couldn't stop moaning about them last week when they did actually play decently.

God, it's hard watching a game on catch-up and avoiding anything that might tell you the result :drama: A well-deserved win for England, but it should have been rather more comfortable than it was. At least there's now a good chance of England and Wales both getting through.

BTW, well done to proud Welshman Robbie Savage for being the first commentator to spot that Jamie Vardy was not offside for his goal.

Yes, what a win with that Sturridge goal, and I predicted 2-1, they should be through to the next round, I do think Russia will lose out from this group, if Wales beat them on Monday.

They were showing this in the school I'm working at and didn't even mind when the kids went out of their exam to watch it :lol: I missed it alas, but very glad to hear of that result (and it looks very likely we'll get to the next round now even if we are somehow third in the end). The 92nd minute has proved rather crucial for England this Euros :o

I wouldn't hold my breath at Wales beating Russia. They've been pretty lucky all tournament.

We got there in the end. The first half was poor from both teams, Wales never looked like scoring from open play and we started a lot less sharply than against Russia. Kane is clearly exhausted but we're lucky we've got such great options on the bench. Only looked like one winner once the substitutes started being used.

 

Thought Rooney was very good again. Dread to think how poor our midfield passing quality would have been without him in there.

I managed to see the game. They showed it on my training day. :). Reasonably deserved win for England looked much better than we did against Russia. Fantastic free-kick though from Bale you have to say. We should started Sturridge & Vardy, I think. Solid performance from Rashford.

I don't think he's exhausted as such, I just don't think he suits the way England currently play. His movement is lacking and we don't play like Spurs do. He's found it very difficult with the little space he has to work in. He's a quality player no doubt about it, but Sturridge is better than him.

 

Expect Kane & Sterling will be dropped for Slovakia. Personally I would also play Bertrand over Rose. We will need to be more assured defensively as Slovakia need the 3 points.

:lol: I recorded the n.ire game and watched it when I got home and avoided all watsapps and Internet on route but in the middle of the first half I heard that guy down stairs going bloody mental and I knew what was to come - felt like one of the likely lads lol

Just seen the highlights of the England match. Wayne Rooney grabbing the camera when the players celebrated the winning goal was funny :lol:, I still think Wales will go through to the next round.

Hard to believe England beat Wales now especially with Wales progress in the tournament.
