As much as I would like to see them win it, I think France/Italy/Germany will probably be too much for them.

Fair play to Iceland they were the much better team and as people have been watching this tournament who watch the EPL each week realise international football is about more than individuals. As others have said itvs coverage was embarrassing comparing the Iceland team with the money of the premier league - it's a ridiculous comparison!

As it goes, it's probably not England's worst result - the USA one in 1950 was almost certainly worse and Norway in 1981. ...and at least you haven't ever had to fight back to draw with the Faroe Islands unlike some nations I could mention.

I said it earlier in the thread, impartial commentary goes out of the window when England play on ITV. To be honest it's not fair on the opponent, especially if in this case there were some Icelandic people living in Britain who were watching the match.
June 27, 20169 yr Author It was painful to listen to Ian Wright as well "we don't want a foreigner as coach, we want Gareth Southgate!". Just sums up the cluelessness about English football. Hodgson is not a bad guy, but he is way out of his depth. As a Liverpool fan, I can assure you this, and I said this in 2012! The FA need to come up with a style and identity and stick to it. Until we do that, we are never going to be more than a team that makes up the numbers at the tournament. Far too many average players in our first XI. The back 5 is the worst I have ever seen since I've been supporting England. Midfield.. don't even think you can call it that. A overrated Spurs player, a striker and a Spurs player that is not a central midfielder. And don't even get me started on Harry Kane. Terrible.
