Now Sean Paul has resigned to a major label (Island Records) I think he'll have a string of hits over the next year or so.

Just like Craig David, the time is ripe for his comeback. Dancehall is probably the major influence in pop music right now and Sean Paul's old material is still widely loved and played to death in the clubs!

Crick Neck should just be the beginning (fingers crossed).

14. Bob Marley & The Wailers - Is This Love (feat. LVNDSCAPE & Bolier)

23. Florence + The Machine - Wish That You Were Here (From “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” Original Motion Picture)

34. Dua Lipa - Blow Your Mind (Mwah)

39. Sean Paul - Crick Neck (feat. Chi Ching Ching)

43. John Newman - Olé

44. Izzy Bizu - White Tiger

51. Rudimental - Healing (feat. J Angel)

92. Stormzy - BrOTHERHOOD

185. Michael Bublé - My Kind Of Girl

949. Mumford & Sons, Baaba Maal, The Very Best & Beatenberg - Wona (Jack Garratt Remix)

11. Bob Marley & The Wailers - Is This Love (feat. LVNDSCAPE & Bolier)

MASSIVE update for these guys - looking as though it'll be safely top ten by the end of the day, pushing Anne-Marie out once again  Oh, and Charlie Puth and Selena are now down in 13 with a dark red update :heehee:

30. Dua Lipa - Blow Your Mind (Mwah)

46. Britney Spears - Make Me... (feat. G-Eazy)

48. Mike Perry - The Ocean (feat. Shy Martin)

49. Rudimental - Healing (feat. J Angel)

76. Stormzy - BrOTHERHOOD

Closer at 99% in the past 20 hours :|

Their updates were 0.9612, 0.9814, 0.9944, 0.9880, 0.9904, 0.9921, 0.9927, 0.9940, 0.9918, 0.9694

So always when you think that in the next update they will go to No. 1, their increase is just minimal or they are falling

Seriously the power of 59p! This promotional tactic reminds me of the CD single years when record companies would release 2 CDs and they would be 2 for £2 in week 1 before going up to £2.99 each in the 2nd week.

The 40p saving has caused Bob Marley to climb from the 30s to Top 10, John Newman from low 60s to Top 40 etc,

but also its 59p synchronised with airplay peak, 59p without airplay doesn't always work

The vast majority of the Bob Marley song is very funky, love the looped zylophone/glockenspiel tune and the Bob Marley vocals or whatever it is tune. I really don't like the pan pipe solo in it though.

Very frustrating, a small part of this song ruins it for me, like The Chainsmokers Don't Let Me Down whining sounds in the drop ruin it for me.

I am like that with songs.

Closer but no cigar.

Closer is dreadful imo, lazy singing and lazy production, very paint by numbers.

But at least Dua Lipa and offaiah are doing reasonable now. Two of my favourites of the year.

Yeah, it didn't work for Rise.

Yeah, it didn't work for Rise.

It stopped it from dropping out of the Top 100 though so whilst not the huge impact expected it stabilized it somewhat and added sales and pushed it back into the Top 75 for 2 more weeks.

Talking of Rise, I'm glad that quite massively underperformed compared to Katy's usual standards. It really was very average for her and it has got average (by top tier pop girl standards) chart positions as a result - I'm glad it didn't go top 5/10 on name alone. I'm not going to buy this "it was just a Olympics promo single" thing either as she's had an expensive music video and she bought the entirety of iTunes ad banners on release day and it had all the push of a proper lead single, maybe except a couple of TV performances.

I think it was one of the most bizarre releases iv seen tbh - she released it as an Olympics song but it seemed to have no connection with the Olympics at all in terms of promo (I think a snippet of the video was played during the opening ceremony?), but it's odd that she didn't get an opening or closing performance and U.S. TV stations didn't use the song heavily during their coverage.

It'd been stated from the word go that Rise is for the NBC coverage of the Olympics, it's no wonder she didn't get an opening or closing ceremony performance because NBC have nothing to do with that :heehee: it's not done amazingly but honestly it's far from her best, I'm looking forward to when we get the actual first single from the new album.
