I've never heard this Rise Up song but just checked it out, it's amazing. How was it not a hit?!

No UK push or radio support I would guess but I'm not sure on that.

I myself had never heard of it before, just assumed it was one of the token old songs X Factor wannabes dig back up.

Just not getting why this won't do well. I suppose it needs to be used on an advert and then it would start to do well.

I completely agree on this *should* be doing better but an advert doesn't necessarily mean success - just ask Avicii with Taste The Feeling!

Andra Day is more famous in the US cos Stevie Wonder discovered her or mentored her or something

but the song has not been a hit in the US either, it actually peaked at #1 in the Bubbling Under songs (+/- equivalent to peaking at #101)

Omg I thought it did better in the US, I'm always seeing it in the top 200!

44. Andra Day - Rise Up

Come onnnn. Get in the top 30!

Also, I'm not sure how it did on radio over in America, but I think it got a "late" push, as I saw it was being requested when 'Make Me' was first released and it was used as the sound bed to a lot of the NBC Olympics coverage.

All it needs over here is radio backing and I am certain it'd be one of those long running top 10 smashes. Like 'Let It Go'/'Jar Of Hearts' or something.

No sign of Nicole's Run? :kink: I thought it'd get a big boost from that guy's great performance of it plus Nicole poking fun at it flopping.
94. Nicole Scherzinger - Run

HUGE boost for that! :o

This to become this years 'Make You Feel My Love' please :kink:

I read the first post of this thread and thought the 2007 Yves Larock song was about to get a new chart peak.r#

(which also charted lower than was perhaps expected - #13 but a huge club favourite back in the late noughties)

X Factor?

Surprised that Zara hasn't moved up much, Olly went top 3 when he performed it on the Jonathon Ross show.

79. Giggs - Lock Doh (feat. Donae'o)

This isn't even on 59p, and it isn't getting much support from anywhere - it's sustaining itself pretty well, though. Sounds absolutely MASSIVE - I really do hope Radio 1 get behind this as they do play Skepta constantly (Shutdown gets played nearly every day still!), and it's the kind of thing they like.

Please smash.

Well Olly was on the sofa being interviewed on

JonThan ross too

OH MY GOD.
