That post ties in very well with my BJSC entry for this contest...

Saw your potentials...indeed it does.

Was referring to the lyrics of this song about Dave On The Train though.

You are not going for THAT iconic 00s dance act?

Unfortunately not but throwback! *.*

Yes Scooter were brilliant. A return to this sort of dance in the charts soon would be welcome.

The closest we have to Scooter musically in the itunes chart is the Kolsch one (like Scooter he is described as a techno producer) which kind of has the eurodance beat in places and also is a bit trance reminiscent in its bits without a beat before the buildup.

Shame the Strictly tribute seems to have done nothing for You Spin Me.

I'm actually shocked that 'You Spin Me Round' has not done anything - I think it climbed into the 80s, I was really expecting it to Go Top 40 as I thought it was such a well known track and as sales are lower now on iTunes etc,. I was also expecting a huge boost from Strictly too

Normally I'd say it was down to the fact that they were known as "Dead Or Alive" rather than "Pete Burns", but yeah, I'm surprised. It feels like lesser knowns dying get bigger boosts.

I expected you spin me round by Dead or Alive to return the charts officially with it been such a big hit and also it was a hit twice over, but someone said it was known as Dead or Alive rather than Pete Burns.

The target proportion would have also only known Pete Burns from his CBB days onwards.

Unfortunately it seems that songs by bands will never get a boost from their singer's death large enough to get a top 100 placing, as we've seen already twice this year (no Eagles song in the official top 100 after Glenn Frey's death, no Earth, Wind & Fire song in the official top 100 after Maurice White's death), unless there's a proper campaign like for Ace Of Spades.

Presumably there'll be an exception to the trend when Paul McCartney dies, I'd expect songs like Live And Let Die, Let It Be, Hey Jude and Yesterday to get big chart boosts from that.

I doubt Ringo's death will do much though, he's the one people cared the least about.

If Harry Styles was to kick the bucket I'm sure people would care.

Drake - Two Birds, One Stone

Perhaps, but I heavily doubt we'll see a One Direction dominated top 100 because of it. Maybe What Makes You Beautiful would re-enter the top 100, but that would be it.

I'm pretty sure as Harry Styles is a more "current" name that would be huge news and the chart would be pretty dominated if it were to happen any time soon.
