November 7, 20168 yr split this into a new topic. remember the Christmas chart will be announced Friday 23rd December this year. I don't think they'll do as well as last year, as the biggest days for Xmas song streaming will fall into the following week.
November 7, 20168 yr All I Want For Christmas is to see a Xmas song in the top 10 (I don't care which one), we've come excruciatingly close the past 2 years now...

November 7, 20168 yr Author All I Want For Christmas is to see a Xmas song in the top 10 (I don't care which one), we've come excruciatingly close the past 2 years now... Can't see it happening purely because of the day that Christmas falls on this year. :( I think cqmerqn has the right idea with his predictions, songs will be slightly lower..

November 8, 20168 yr Hoping Leona can make it for a couple weeks this year. She did the best she's ever done on streaming last year (inclduing when originally released), but she got less support from heart last year than years previous. Really hoping it'll be 59p this year - could give it a nice boost. I expect something like #71(xmas chart)-#93(3 days), with Xmas eve her biggest streaming/sales day.
November 8, 20168 yr Might be a good chance for these to do well as I'd guess more people are streaming now than ever before? I bet shops are also starting to use Spotify apps on shuffle rather than CDs. Not sure any will get to the top 10 but should be around about the same. Hoping Slade pick up a bit, seems wrong that they've been overtaken by Wizzard and Chris Rea.

November 8, 20168 yr I'd also like a Buble track in the top 40 this year if possible. Christmas (Baby Please) would be my choice but happy either way! Also, hope the David Bowie & Bing Crosby - Little Drummer Boy will be in the top 40/20 this year as tribute to him!
November 8, 20168 yr Author that David Bowie song isn't available on Spotify so the chances of it charting this year are very small unless there's a proper campaign to get it back in the chart. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas should definitely make the top 40 this year for the first time, which would be great to see.
November 9, 20168 yr I guess it has less appeal to this generation than Wizzard etc True, but I suspect it's people of a certain vintage buying / streaming them. We need Noddy and co on a big advert somewhere - even an X Factor cover!
November 9, 20168 yr Would love to see Stop The Calvary finally make it's top 40 return this year. Yet to do so since downloads and streaming have been eligible. Edited November 9, 20168 yr by zenon
November 9, 20168 yr Me too - but, again, it'd probably need a big feature somewhere on TV. Just as long as nobody does a stripped-back, acoustic cover for the John Lewis advert!
