Posted November 18, 20168 yr Olly has just confirmed on a Facebook Live that the third single from his now chart topping fifth album is "Years & Years"! One of my favourites on the album this. First performance is on "The Graham Norton Show" next Friday, and he is also shooting the video next week as well. Edited December 14, 20168 yr by ThePensmith
November 20, 20168 yr Can I flip this on it's head and suggest that Years & Years release a single called Olly Murs on the same day?

November 21, 20168 yr Author Can I flip this on it's head and suggest that Years & Years release a single called Olly Murs on the same day? That would be quite funny :D A bit like All Time Low should've released a song called The Wanted!
November 21, 20168 yr Yessss. One of the best choices for single imo. It's like the younger cousin to 'Dear Darlin'', lyrically not as mature, but still quite similar in various other ways. 'Back Around' for 4th single though, please!
November 21, 20168 yr It is one of the stronger tracks on the album but i believe Read My Mind would have made a better 3rd single release.
November 21, 20168 yr Decent choice ─ though Back Around would have been a better choice to suit the season, a nice mellow pop track. If I were Olly's label I'd go with Back Around (December) Better Than Me (early March) Deeper (massive top 3 in June/July so a push @ the end of May)
November 21, 20168 yr This album is not as instant as any of his previous album but i did say the same about his previous album. That said, Grow Up was an initial disappointment but it has continued to grow and grow on me as i think will be the same outcome with a few tracks on the album.
November 26, 20168 yr Really hoped he would perform Grow Up on Graham Norton <_< that songs deserves a top 20 peak! Love this and happy it's the 3rd single, tho.
November 26, 20168 yr That would be quite funny :D A bit like All Time Low should've released a song called The Wanted! Or Barbra Streisand releasing a song called Duck Sauce Or Madness releasing a song called Muse or Coldplay Are there any examples of when this has hapened that two acts have mirrored song and artist names
November 27, 20168 yr With his singles struggling in the streaming era it's probably wise to rush a 3rd release and squeeze in another XF slot to make sure he gets as many Christmas sales for his album.
November 27, 20168 yr Its starting to look like Olly and the record company know the singles wont be as big as they used to be so are chasing the album sales especially in the q4 where the big sales come from. He is lucky he is still selling albums in decent numbers.
November 27, 20168 yr Loved his performamce on Graham Norton. The song really benefits from being live I think! Could go on to be a crowd pleaser, I reckon. Much like (sorry to make the comparison again) 'Dear Darlin'.
November 27, 20168 yr Author yDKWe43-tgA Great performance on Graham Norton...he's on Sunday Brunch on Channel 4 right now and will perform it again at the end of the show. People are saying it's a bit sudden to move on so soon from "Grow Up" but on the last album he moved on to promoting "Up" a week after "Never Been Better" went to #1 and that went on to be one of his biggest hits. The "24 Hrs" album will be fine though, he's got a lot of promo coming up in the next month and a bit and the new arena tour starts in March, by which point I imagine another single will be out as well.
November 27, 20168 yr With his singles struggling in the streaming era it's probably wise to rush a 3rd release and squeeze in another XF slot to make sure he gets as many Christmas sales for his album. This is precisely the reason I think he may be doing this because it gives people the chance to have more reasons to buy the album! It could back fire though if people get confused and he doesn't get any hits at all.

Yea but Wrapped Up was the lead single so it had a high peak and he performed it on a few different occassions (not the mention all the WW promo), so it was not as drastic when he moved on to "Up". Meanwhile he is moving on to Y&Y literally in the middle of Grow Up's chart run. His label probably wants to sell the album and they think they'll do it best with Y&Y, so I understand their point of view, just sad cuz GU will not peak in the top 20.
November 29, 20168 yr Not too sure about how well this will perform, didn't jump out at me upon listening to the album. Deeper, Unpredictable, 24 Hours, Private, Read My Mind or Love You More to be the next single please.
