Since Loud had so many singles and is considered one of her best on here, it'd be good to see how you'd rank them! Like the other albums I've done this for there won't be results etc but it's nice to see what everyone thinks.

1.) Man Down

2.) S&M

3.) What's My Name

4.) Only Girl (In The World)

5.) California King Bed

6.) Raining Men

7.) Cheers (Drink To That)

None are awful but the bottom two aren't great and California King Bed is kinda 7/10 average. The top three though are life (What's My Name has grown A LOT)

I was a fan of S&M at the time but I've gone off it a lot since. The bottom two were always awful :P

01. Man Down (her best song)

02. Only Girl

03. Cheers

04. S&M

05. What's My Name?

06. California King Bed

(07. Raining Men)

The bottom 2 are abysmal, tuneless trash. What's My Name is not a song I would ever chose to listen to, but it's alright. Cheers has some fairly good points, but the chant/shouty bit doesn't work for me at all. The top 3 are all among her very best singles.

01 California King Bed

NO

07. Raining Men

01 What's My Name (perhaps her best track ever for me, rihanna when she was right at her peak period.)

02 S&M (one of her all-time best tracks, love how catchy and bonkers it is)

03 Man Down (was always one of the best tracks on the whole album, just got a perfect swagger to it)

04 Cheers (Drink To That) (i like the vibe this has, perfect chill riri track)

05 Only Girl (In the World) (doesn't sound fresh whatsoever anymore, far too overplayed even though it is great still)

06 California King Bed (i do think this is quite pretty but not the most exciting really)

07 Raining Men (this is pretty terrible, just a bit of a mess and no good hooks)

01. What's My Name?

02. Only Girl (In The World)

03. California King Bed

04. S&M

05. Man Down

06. Cheers (Drink To That)

So hard though, the top 5 are all 10/10 perfect pop moments.

03 California King Bed

04 S&M

05 Cheers (Drink To That)

06 What's My Name

07 Raining Men

I like them all to some extent, but What's My Name is SO overrated and Raining Men is just kinda disappointing given the calibre of the names involved.

7. Raining Men (I didn't even know this was actually a single, oops...what a bad choice)

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm not gonna rank 'Raining Men' as it wasn't actually a proper single, just a radio release for the Urban radio, but I will rank the others.

01. S&M = Yes still love this even now, and probably my favourite single of hers. It's just so chaotic and awesome, instantly the song just pulls you in and stays in your head with that true to form earworm effect. In all just a great fun party song and I remember when I first bought this album and this was the one that stuck out the most for me and left the greatest impression and instantly knew that this would be a smash hit single at some point and I was right.

02. What's My Name = Out of the many Rihanne/Drake collaborations, this one is definitely the best, with Rihanna at the absolute height of her career and a force to be reckoned with, while Drake was just basically starting out. With it's simple yet very effective production it's R&B at it's finest and plus adding a bit of Rihanna's classic Caribbean flavour to the mix and everything just worked on this and you can sense the real chemistry between the artists which is always a good sign, and then you've got the perfect song. Plus this was the absolute perfect 2nd single.

03. Only Girl (In The World) = Before I would have ranked this as the runner up, but the overplay kinda killed it in my opinion. I still love it of course and it was just the perfect lead single, after the heaviness of her last era, it was a great move to come back with something more light and care-free and shows that Rihanna can still have fun and it does help that she further cemented her status as a worldwide icon, thanks to this.

04. Man Down = A definite standout on this album, it was such a shame that this got passed over in the UK as it was starting to do quite well on downloads. I just love the Reggae beat on this track and it does show another side to the album and plus we get another cool music video along with that and the song itself packs a lot of personality.

05. California King Bed = This is well and truly a lovely track, and slowing things down after 3 club bangers was a wise move, sure it's not one of her greatest or well remembered hits, but it is very nice and a welcome change of pace.

06. Cheers (Drink To That) = I used to really like this song at the time, but now I've found that it's aged quite badly, mixing an Avril Lavinge song into it was certainly different and quite surprising, but I never saw what the fuss was about to be honest, sure the song is decent, but it's definitely not incredible, like so many people said at the time.
