Great top 10 except for (for me) Tears, which I have never managed to get into! Something about Louisa Johnson just rubs me up the wrong way, incredibly so, despite her talent and good voice!

Some great inspirations I've got from this list countdown though - things I will be listening to in 2017, perhaps!

good to see Imany top 10 here!

like I thought at the start Sigala will win.

He is very much the bookies favourite!

I wasn't a huge fan of Louisa on the show at all myself but her vocals on Tears are quite brilliant & really elevate the song. I don't like her song So Good though so it's doubtful I'll be a fan of her as a solo artist.

That's great to hear, the best part of music forums is sharing/discovering songs through others so I'm glad a few posters have picked up some here they hopefully really enjoy :D

4. The Chainsmokers (feat. ROZES) - Roses

Total points: 570

Chart run: 3-2-3-3-3-2-9-8-11-8-7-10-12-10-11-20-21-27-39 {19 weeks}

2 of the songs that make up the top 4 didn't actually top the Chart at any point & this is one of those. By miles The Chainsmokers' most successful hit, clocking up 12 weeks in the top 10 in 3 separate stints including peaking at #2 twice behind Jonas Blue & later Sigala. They only charted since with 'Don't Let Me Down' which finished well down on the countdown so it'll be a tough ask for them to ever match this quality.

3. Mahmut Orhan (feat. Sena Sener) - Feel

Total points: 684

Chart run: 4-3-1-1-2-2-1-1-1-2-3-8-11-13-15-11-12-13-23-23-28-40 {22 weeks}

Finishing in a very impressive bronze position is this absolutely wondrous song from the heart of Turkey. It really contains everything I love in dance music & its Chart performance certainly reflected that, becoming only the 4th ever song to spend 5 or more weeks at #1 & going head-to-head with Chart juggernaut 'Say You Do' over a period of 8 successive weeks where they traded top spot on three occasions. Despite the overwhelming success of this neither act has yet to return to the Chart but for now let's say the bar is certainly sky high.

Yesss at Roses being that high, by far their best song, the production on that is just exquisite :heart: Don't Be So Shy & The Legend were great BJSC discoveries too, the former sounded like such a summer smash I'm surprised it didn't take off like This Girl did.

Easily their best yeah & a track I never clicked with until months after initially hearing it! After so many listens it won me over & I've loved it ever since.

Great to see Don't Be So Shy resonate with so many others, I was crying out for it to be a hit here but it just never happened, one that got away...

2. MNEK - At Night (I Think About You)

Total points: 764

Chart run: 2-5-7-10-11-12-16-8-4-3-5-4-6-6-8-7-7-6-8-14-17-14-26-30-32-39-36- {27 weeks}

Taking the runners-up spot is this utter anthem from MNEK. One of the hardest to understand official flops of the year for me as everything about it is simply exceptional & by far and away the best thing he's ever been involved in. It never actually topped the Chart amazingly, peaking on its debut week behind Reggie N Bollie would you believe but its sheer resilience & incredibly stable run in the top 10 put it well ahead of 'Feel' on points & its run of an eventual 28 weeks means it's in the hall of fame with only 6 other songs to ever achieve over half a year on the Chart.

1. Sigala (feat. Imani Williams & DJ Fresh) - Say You Do

Total points: 877

Chart run: 1-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-1-1-2-2-4-3-2-4-8-12-14-13-16-17-21-20-25-36-36-31-35-40 {30 weeks}

What else was it ever going to be in 2016? Coming as absolutely no surprise to anyone who follows my weekly Charts, Sigala, Imani Williams & DJ Fresh take the crown for 2016 with the record-breaking 'Say You Do'. Finishing over 100 points ahead of 2nd placed MNEK just some of the records this song holds include most ever weeks at #1, joint-most ever consecutive weeks at #1, most weeks consecutively in the Chart, most weeks spent in the top 3, the only song in the charting year to debut at #1 & to add to that it put Sigala & DJ Fresh in joint-first position in most weeks at #1 for artists. In terms of overall points it just finishes short of last year's top 2 (Avicii's 'Waiting For Love' & Alesso's 'Cool') but with everything else factored in all I can say is this is one of those extremely rare perfect songs from a personal viewpoint. Bravo champion!

Ain't Giving Up was probably the best song Craig David released following WTBD.

Say You Do is a decent song but it never really hit me properly.

Great countdown overall :wub:

great chart, good to see Sigala topping it too :D impressive that MNEK is #2 here with a weekly #2 peak!

Roses and Feel at #3 and #4 are wonderful to see, both absolute dance tunes, I always underestimate how beautiful Feel's Eastern influences are and Roses is their highlight. Loving Imany in the top 10 too!

Say You Do is a fair tune to be #1 here, very bright and happy although I didn't get hugely into it myself.

Fabulous top 5 Dobbo, love them all especially Say You Do, Roses and Ja Kem Nis!

Yeah certainly was. 16 was superb as well but I definitely played Ain't Giving Up a lot more!

Fair enough, it literally couldn't be any more up my street :lol:

Thanks Lewis!

Very much so & only #2 for the one week as well, just a ridiculous top 10 run by my Chart's standards...

It was amazing seeing so many others take to Feel, by far the best discovery I made last year & indeed ever! Similar story with Don't Be So Shy.

Roses is definitely their best & it probably will be for eternity really.

Say You Do THE most feelgood song ever? Maybe not but I always think so when I hear it.

Thanks Iz!

Nice to see Feel so high! It kind of just passed me by when I first heard it, but it is great now I've listened to it a few times! :music:

Good to hear Pete! I'm sure you'd had thrown a few pts its way if you were involved back then ;)

Thanks :D

Fabulous top 5 Dobbo, love them all especially Say You Do, Roses and Ja Kem Nis!

Cheers Riser, glad you're loving the very top of the top!
