January 2, 20178 yr really hope he continues his trend of releasing an uptempo as the lead, don't think I could deal with an Ed Sheeran ballad clogging up the chart all year. I very much enjoyed 'Sing' and 'Don't' so I'm reasonably hyped.
January 2, 20178 yr 'Sing' & 'Don't' were my least favourite songs from his last album. Or is it just that they're not downtempo that people like them? 'Sing' sounds so much like a Justin Timberlake circa 2003 reject and 'Don't' is hella pretentious and annoying. Very excited to hear what he can do though! 'Thinking Out Loud' was always a timeless classic and I adore the sentiment behind 'Photograph' so much, it's gone on to become one of my fave songs. I do miss 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' Ed a little bit though...
January 2, 20178 yr "Don't" was the only decent thing from his last album so I can't say that I'm particularly excited about new music.
January 2, 20178 yr Don't is his best song so pls that more I dont really see how its pretentious either
January 2, 20178 yr I'm the complete opposite here in that I loved his first album but utterly loathed almost everything on his second (only good songs were Don't & Bloodstream). I expect this will be crap but I'll it give it a chance.
January 2, 20178 yr Been listening to 'x' tonight in anticipation for new music from him and it's reminded me how great a musician he is and now I'm so hyped for new stuff from him. If that shade of blue ends up being the album cover then I am so buying my first physical CD in about a year, it is gorgeous ! I imagine the album cover will look like/be this and wow, what a lovely colour  http://i.imgur.com/HLRYYys.jpg Edited January 2, 20178 yr by Josh.
January 2, 20178 yr It feels quite a while since his last album, so quite excited for this! Don't is his best song so pls that more I dont really see how its pretentious either Showing your good taste once again ^_^
January 2, 20178 yr Isn't Ed Sheeran, being an acoustic singer songwriter, more indie, rock and alternative rather than pop, so I thought this would be in that forum :D He's not much more pop than Twenty One Pilots and they are in that forum iirc.
January 3, 20178 yr Isn't Ed Sheeran, being an acoustic singer songwriter, more indie, rock and alternative rather than pop, so I thought this would be in that forum :D He's not much more pop than Twenty One Pilots and they are in that forum iirc. He's always been in this forum, so I dont see a reason to change it. He is definately pop
January 3, 20178 yr Ed is in no way indie or alternative  Twenty One Pilots are because they have eclectic influences from electronica, rap, rock, indie-pop, hip-hop etc. and they deviate from pop a lot by mixing them all and having their own unique style. Ed is mostly acoustic pop, with a bit of R&B in songs like Don't and Sing. Having a guitar as the main instrument doesn't make you indie.
January 3, 20178 yr Wow looks like I got it right! 😜 Yes, I couldn't find that symbol on my keyboard, hence the alternative one.
January 3, 20178 yr Adverts during CBB revealed whatever this is is being released at 5am (on Friday of course)!
January 3, 20178 yr Ed's been working in the studio with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Rudimental, Nicole Scherzinger, Tori Kelly, Beyoncé, Kygo and Martin Garrix! Bloody hell, should be some ace collaborations on the album - plus the last two hint to us that he is indeed sticking mainstream, might even be going tropical :cheer: Just for the record, here're the registered tracks from Ed recently~ 21st Century Fox | Ed Sheeran, Jethro James Sheeran & Jaja Soze Brother’s Blood | Edward Sheeran & Benjamin Levin City Lights | Jake Gosling, Tayo Jarrett & Edward Sheeran Fall | Ed Sheeran & Amy Wadge Follow The Girl | Ed Sheeran, Rupert Christie NEW Jigsaw | Ed Sheeran & Jake Gosling NEW Laura | Edward Sheeran & Amy Wadge Learning to Count | Edward Sheeran & Amy Wadge Lift Me Up | Jake Gosling & Edward Sheeran Make Me Better | Ed Sheeran, James Blount & Johnny McDaid NEW Replay Rewind | Martijn Garristen, Edward Sheeran & Amy Wadge Social Worker | Ed Sheeran & Jake Gosling NEW Stranger | Edward Sheeran & Benny Blanco Sure | Ed Sheeran Ticket in the Tin | Jonathan Green, Edward Sheeran & Jack McManus West Coast of Clare | Ed Sheeran What I Want | Charles Igleby & Edward Sheeran Nice to see there definitely IS a song recorded with Martin Garrix! :cheer: (Replay Rewing) Edited January 3, 20178 yr by mdh
January 3, 20178 yr Omg Tori Kelly on the album PLEASE. I Was Made For Loving You was beautiful and she needs a hit.
January 4, 20178 yr I'm expecting it to be the album pre-order and the new single as an instant grat. He's been teasing lyrics recently and it's playlisted on Radio 2 already (albeit without a track name), so I think that rules out an album release!
