I DIDN'T REALISE THIS WAS STILL CONTINUING

Surprised to see The 1975 in the mix. I enjoyed their album in moderate, varying amounts throughout the year :o

Glad you agree with Sia/Ariana - we're always quite in sync with our big pop loving. House on Fire, Footprints and Space Between are actually filler for me, but the rest I adore.

I can cope with 'Space Between' being thought of as filler because I can accept it is a very slow, drawn out song that doesn't make any immediate impact, but the other two! :o

Mind you, we can even each other out because I find 'Diamond Heart' to be one of the weaker tracks from Joanne (it's a good song but it would definitely be filler material if it appeared later in the album).

Very pleased to see 'I Wanna Be' make an appearance! I was quite disappointed by Katy's album but that song truly was the diamond in the rough and could have been a hit if released at the start of the campaign. I just hope she can regain her chart success and/or ability to create a good dance song with sad undertones.

Hello, it's me x

Never been with a boy more than six months, ain't nobody ever kept my attention

31. Beyoncé - All Night

32. Little Mix – Shout Out To Me Ex

33. Ariana Grande – Knew Better / Forever Boy

34. Mike Posner - I Took A Pill In Ibiza (SeeB Remix)

35. Demi Lovato - Body Say

36. Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman

37. Tove Lo - Cool Girl

38. Dua Lipa – Blow Your Mind (Mwah)

39. Lady Gaga – Million Reasons

40. Tinashe - Ghetto Boy

Tinashe shows she can do ballads just as expertly as she can do the bangers with this beautiful ode to bad boys~ Dawn has given us a brilliantly diverse album and 'Love Under Lights' is the finest bit of music on there - with killer raps, blinding production, warped breakdowns - it's a frantic, essential listen! Gaga strips it all back with a new, signature ballad to add to her career (she hasn't had a brilliant one get full single treatment ;o) and this is a fine way to do it and showcase this side of her. Dua Lipa has had a brilliant year storming onto the pop scene and (Mwah) was a fantastic way of showing off her seductive personality - here's to an album hopefully coming in the new year? :') Tove Lo offered a completely different musical shift too, a more R&B, stop-start affair that I personally loved and had stuck in my head for weeks, but not many others seemed to agree :'( Lead single off my #1 album also features, she really can do no wrong lmao and an album track in the form of dual sided Knew Better/Forever Boy, a song of the ages about keeping a lost love forever and knowing full well what you're getting into. It's made complete sense to me this year, with breakups, relationships and new romance interests throughout. She gets me ~~

My new favourite single from Demi is the sexy (yes Demi, being sexy.. and it working ) 'Body Say' and huge chart smash from Mike Posner of all people making a return, ironically by referencing his past glories and attempted to show he's more than just a one trick pony. Another huge chart smash from the Little Mix girls and an absolute stomper on a night out, especially with Rob - they know how to make a statement. And finally in a year when everyone was seemingly laying into their exes and past lovers (no less Beyoncé herself).. at the end of her gigantic album came 'All Night'. The tone shifts, the entire message of the album dissipitates and it becomes one of hope, forgiveness and moving on. A brilliant way to end an album and a stunning song regardless of positioning. A statement of accepting ones faults and embracing them regardless. Who knew fierce bitch Bey had it in her.

Love all of these.

Million Reasons  Such a gorgeous song, I adore it now so it's baffling I ever had a time when I couldn't take to it

'ello Haus

All Night has never been one of my massive highlights from Lemonade but I'm glad she's picked it as a single as it's really growing on me loads already. To be fair, it is probably one of her all-time best ballads, a shame nothing will come of it charts wise due to streaming :( I do wish DHYS and 6 Inch were getting the single treatment too though, probably my two favourite tracks on the whole thing

Million Reasons is really feeling like Gaga's ballad of her career at this stage, she hasn't had loads of great ones really but this track is just stunning and I love how stripped back it is in comparison to some of her past tracks. A shame she's struggling so much with charts success at the moment, don't want her to be the nu Brinty  :(

Hi Balbitch!

24. All Saints – Make U Love Me

25. Nimmo – Dancing Makes Us Brave

26. Travis Scott ft. Kid Cudi - Through the Late Night

27. Dua Lipa – Hotter Than Hell

28. Rihanna - Same Ol' Mistakes

29. Troye Sivan ft. Betty Who - Heaven

30. Dawn Richard - Love Under Lights

Slight delay for NY celebrations but we're back to wrap this up. Dawn Richard brings electrifying love under the lights with absolutely killer verses where raps of her lovers and desires, a stomping chorus and intense breakdowns - it's a complete riot of a song and showcases the multitude of her talents. Troye's inclusion is an odd one in that it's been such a huge song for me the past year and a bit and although it was available last year it only got single treatment (barely) this year. A song of the ages and one of the most important released, it should be a lot higher but it's dodgy release and the fact it's a 2015 song prevent it from doing so. A Rihanna cover/album track features and the humongous, heated debut (for me at least) for Dua. Travis Scott had a big year for me but it was him teaming up with Kid Cudi that accelerated his progression into a massive Haus favourite. TTLN is both futuristic and nostalgic and is brilliantly absurd.

We get the disco infused banger from Nimmo, with such a powerful message of how music can save you in the midst of danger and peril and then a double helping from All Saints - very little separates these two songs for me and it shows in the fact I kept swapping their order round right until the second I posted. One Strike is a bold powerful statement about the complexities of love while Make U Love Me is a heartfelt cry for desire - both are superb R&B inspired pop numbers, beautifully sung and expertly produced. Just missing out on the top 20 we have the latest hit from LM, sure to make big waves in 2017 too and a song from very early in the year, the important, essential Borders from MIA accompanied by my favourite music video of the year ~

Hiya x

FAB! *.*

The Actress was a great entry, always enjoy some strong pop like that.

Glad to see some appreciation for Controlla, probably my fave song on the album after Hotline Bling actually.

In Ibiza what a dance classic that'll become, one of the best sounding songs on set of good speakers.

Love Touch, they've really pulled a gem out of the bag with that one!

Nice to see Hotter Than Hell here, Dua Lipa has really proved herself this year!

I'm not a fan of Little Mix, but I have to say Touch is quite catchy! :D

She has! Can't wait for her album :D

I know you're always on the night shift, but I can't stand these nights alone

16. Fifth Harmony - Work From Home

17. Lady Gaga – Perfect Illusion

18. M.O. - Who Do You Think Of?

19. - Final Song

20. The Vamps & Matoma – All Night

As we enter the top 20, The Vamps kick of proceedings with what is now their best for me - a brilliant, change of pace for them chaneling a sophisticated, dark club sound with Brad's more altered vocals. The result is a blinding pop-dance tune full of a catchy refrain and blinding production. Indie icon MØ burst onto the mainstage pop scene with Final Song another one who has changed pace for all the right reasons with the crazed breakdowns and incredible production. Newcomers(ish) M.O came hard with WDYTO a brilliant urban banger with a beautifully distorted vocal arrangement and one of them most killer choruses of the year. Lady Gaga's big return to the scene was Perfect Illusion, a song I loved at the start, waned off in time but then came to properly love later, hearing it out at clubs and it making total sense in the contest of the album pieced the song together and now it's a favourite of mine. Also sounds f***ing IMMENSE blasting it at deafening volume while driving~ I expected FH to be much higher than this  but I don't listen to it as much now but it will forever be an iconic song for me, thanks to precious memories of have dancing to it and going crazy to it with Rob and Joe off here. A fun song, not to be taken too seriously and has caused many a riot mess moments this past year!

It is higher you flop x

You know what I meant xx

LOVE all of the new section! I had high hopes for All Night of course and it still managed to take me by surprise, what an unexpected new sound for them, but it works so well  Who Do You Think Of? really came out of nowhere too, what a beauty of a track.

I'd love it if The Vamps had set the standard as to what a boyband single should sound like in 2016/7. A very inspired move - they were on the verge of losing any sort of relevancy with the public but could quite easily have carried on with their original sound and hoped for high first week peaks; instead they took a sound that was current and adapted it to suit their image and risked an OA/OS release. They definitely pulled it off with the song itself - a release that was fresh, exciting and kept on giving - and have managed to achieve a long-running hit too. Definitely intrigued to see what else they have to give.

'Perfect Illusion' was very odd on first listen but I soon took to it. I agree that it sounds even better in the context of the album - it's like a quick bolt of absolute craziness and ectasy before swiftly being brought back down with 'Million Reasons' (two songs that shouldn't work back-to-back yet somehow do). I still yearn for something that can rival the 'Bad Romances' and 'Born This Ways', but I am happy with 'Perfect Illusion' nonetheless.

I would love it to kickstart a new trend for boy band singles, they've really set the bar high - i can't remember one this strong in a while! Such a sophisticated sound and i'm glad the public warmed to it too because it could've gone either way.

Glad you took to PI eventually, it's an odd one and I can certainly see why it isn't everyone's cup of tea :')

I have powers taking ahold on me

11. Drake ft. WizKid & Kyla - One Dance

12. M.I.A. ft. ZAYN - Freedun

13. Rihanna ft. Drake - Work

14. Sia - Cheap Thrills

15. Britney Spears ft. G-Eazy - Make Me...

A set of huge hits, undeserved flops and should've been huge songs here complete the final set before the all important top 10. Britney's big return to the scene was this glorious song that wasn't as in your face as some of her previous singles but made all the more special because of it. I had huge goosebumps on my first listen because I was reminded how precious the artist is and how honest she can be at times. A stripped back, wonderfully produced number proving that Britney still has it and always will. Sia completely sold in tremendous fashion, even hooking up with Sean Paul to deliver the Friday night anthem of the year with Cheap Thrills while Rihanna took a risky move penning this very urban, almost monotonous track as her lead single, but in true Rihanna fashion is turned up everywhere and wormed its way into everyone's affection. It became a club staple for me and so I have many fond memories with it. Another of those is One Dance the most recognisable track of the past 12 months and it's another song that only truly hit me when I heard it out and about - one of the songs that has me grooving more than any other, it's no doubt why it became so massive - totally and unashamedly made for late nights, bad mistakes and forgetting ills. And we have MIA teaming up with unlikely ex-1D member for another song about forgetting contstraints and freeing yourself, this time more explicitly. Freedun features all of the swagger from MIA but it merges it alongside a beautifully vocalised chorus from Zayn whose vocals steal the show. Fantastic verses of breaking the rules, screwing up agendas and just experiencing release. A stunning song with a fist-pump rhetoric and certainly a new classic from MIA.
