Seems like quite a fresh chart on Friday with the NEs, although I'm sure its due to increased sales for records like Love My Life it seems like the new ratio has had a bit of an effect.

Where's Robbie's album?

He (ED) will not drop the album. He will drop the first single with the album name/Pre Order and stuff. I guess next month or March the latest to slay all year. And yes he will be number 1 easily with those sales.

His twitter account already reveals the album's title. It is (not surprisingly), ÷

So his fourth album title will have to be - .

Unless he will do like Adele, who has stated that her next album won't have the age number title, and stop the title trend with the third album.

I personally hope he releases an album titled ∑, which will be followed by Sigma releasing an album titled Ed Sheeran.

Holding out for '⊥' tbh

Looks like Robbie will hold on for a chart play (oi Hadji look at my daily combined charts, there's nothing to suggest he won't get a chart play!), and hopefully John Legend and JP can both hold on!

Oh, and I expect the update doesn't entail any other new entries because of the New Year domination? I'd've assumed that Jax Jones would have entered because of that, so strange to see him not in the top 40! (or have they just not bothered to tell us all the new entries?)

Joe's just posted a basic update with some information that we have, that doesn't necessarily mean there isn't other top 40 entries lower down, we just don't have that info right now I'm afraid!

Ahh right, that's okay :D Was confused because I expected Starley & Jax to both be there.

And then if Years & Years could also release a single called Olly Murs, my life would be complete :D

4 weeks at #1 on the albums and on course to have 3 top 40 entries at the same time!

NO OTHER SALES INFO

Incredible jump for Pete Tong! I did think the album was selling well for what it was and considering it was Christmastime (and I don't feel it jumps out as a Christmas buy) but I anticipated it to start disappearing from this point on.

Not particularly any major post-Christmas falls in the albums just yet, although Michael Buble's Nobody But Me is down 11-23 (and obviously his Christmas album is gone from the Top 40) and Prince's 4Ever is down 21-32. There's probably some bigger ones outside the Top 40 given how close sales are there.

FYI, George Michael's Ladies & Gentlemen is #11 with 7.8k.

Shame a shortage of stock will stop George Michael getting a Number 1 album. I guess his record company want to focus more on the new album they have planned for early March rather than re-stock the shops with L&G.

Great to see the Pete Tong album selling well.

Great to see some of the new tracks including Jax Jones and Starley creeping into the Top 40!

Adele's 21 breaks five million sales barrier

By Daniel Gumble | January 4th 2017

Adele’s 2011 album 21 has smashed the five million sales barrier, according to OCC figures.

The 16-times platinum album, which is currently the fourth biggest selling British album of all time, achieved the feat six years after its release. The only British albums to have shifted more copies are The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (5.1 millions sales), ABBA’s Gold compilation (5.2m) and Queen’s Greatest Hits (6.1m).

As such, it is the second biggest selling British studio album of all time.

The album had sold 4,999,130 copies in the final chart week of 2016. Now, according to today's official midweek sales flash, the album has since sold another 2,432 units, taking it across the five million mark.

The follow-up to 21, 25, has achieved 10-times platinum status since its release in 2015 and has so far sold 3,249,094 copies.

Looks as though I haven't majorly messed up on my formulas then :cheer:

Expecting Adele and Little Mix to sneak in by the end of the week, but awesome to see Robbie look certain for a chart play, and JP Cooper and John Legend get one too :cheer:

Top 20 new entry for JP *.*

Amazed that Robbie could go top 15 and I hope that Starley and Jax Jones can remain top 40
