January 5, 20179 yr I thought MGK would have entered the top 40. To be honest if the ratio never increased, he would be heading for top 40 I doubt it, Bad Things has only just gone top 40 on streaming.
January 5, 20179 yr Daily updates still looking accurate :cheer: Fingers crossed Starley can make a huge jump today :D
January 5, 20179 yr Yeah, barring a surprise release from Ed Sheeran, should be You Me At Six for #1 next week and The xx the following week. Then there's a couple of weeks up for the taking (perhaps Mike Oldfield?) before Elbow followed by Rag'n'Bone Man. Yes will be interesting if Mike Oldfield gets to the top, there are only 2 tracks on the Album (it is a query for another day but wonder whether there has ever been a number 1 album with 2 or even just the 1 track). Those 2 weeks are really up for grabs given the lack of major Releases. May be George Michael's Record company will get their act together by then.
January 5, 20179 yr And possibility a return to #1 album for someone during the BRITs week (Adele????... if nominated), mind you Ed Sheeran will probably be still around with his album if he tends to release one tomorrow. I'm hoping Christine & The Queens will get the international newcomer/act award, bit random I know in here, but I think the album has really done well for her, in the past 12 months, I can't see anyone else getting that yet... I can't see Adele being nominated unless 'Send My Love' sold enough to be nominated in the Best Single category (or they decide to put her in the Best British Female category for her continued success with 25?) but I don't think that would be enough to get her to #1 either - she'd need to perform and I can only see that happening if there are plans to continue the 25 era. I'd say Little Mix were a better shout for #1 during BRITs week, as well as that quiet two weeks later in January. I didn't realise Mike Oldfield's album only had two tracks! However, that did remind me that I remember Tubular Bells had very few tracks, which I've just checked and it was indeed just 2 tracks as well. It also went to #1, as did the album Hergest Ridge with just two tracks. His last few albums haven't been that successful but I noticed the album was #3 on the Amazon pre-order chart.

Both the entire Tubular Bells and Hergest Ridge albums qualified for my singles chart in 1974, and topped my chart, on the grounds that they were just one track really (you had to turn the record over to get the second part) but as there is a break I guess that means I was being generous and should have just charted one side of each
January 5, 20179 yr Is George Michaels album still in the top 10? Just outside, pun not intentional :heehee:

I can see her performing/being nominated - could be the last televised performance of the era. Perhaps promoting "Water Under The Bridge"? There's still plenty of room for that to grow and by the time the BRITS comes around it should be peaking (currently #32 on the airplay chat and likely to enter the top 40 either this week or next on the offical chart). Not to mention the tour doesn't finish until late June/early July, so I wouldn't be surprised at one more single whilst the tour is still going on. Shame Ed is releasing tonight/tomorrow - "Human" could've had a shot at #1 next week otherwise. Edited January 5, 20179 yr by Envoirment
January 5, 20179 yr Daily updates still looking accurate :cheer: Fingers crossed Starley can make a huge jump today :D I sure hope so it clicked with me today, such an uplifting dance song! There has to be some data missing cause if not I don't get how it didn't move from yesterday's position despite a upwards surge on iTunes & being top 20 on spotify.. Adele should be top 40 by now too. Maybe the old hits are still selling well from the weekend to remain stable or the ratio is being a disadvantage to them and a advantage to Robbie? Anyhow I'm glad September Song is top 20, big official top 5 coming I think!
January 5, 20179 yr I'm not sure Adele could be nominated - don't the rules stipulate that you can only be nominated if you've had an album released in the past 12 months or something?
