It was an amusing entrance but yeah Karen's gonna end up getting old quickly, perhaps they'll flesh her out or she'll calm down a bit with more storylines idk.

 

Keanu more than makes up for any wrongdoings of his family though :wub:

I still can't believe that Keegan, who has been bragging that he's raped Louise, has become part of a big family who'll be central to the show for the foreseeable. SOC has no idea about moral compass.

I don't know why people are so against Keegan staying put! Sure the actions his character has done are REPULSIVE but as a character he's brought perhaps the only interesting story lines to the soap recently (Becks bullying / alcohol spiking / now STDS and rape). I can get not liking what he's doing but actually what he's been involved in has made for the only bits of watchable tv on the show imo. Same for the two bullies - I don't like what they're doing to Becks/Louise but I'd rather see those storylines than f***ing JACK AND THOSE INFURIATINGLY ANNOYING KIDS OF HIS ~

Well, if there were loads of unintentional mentions it shows the show was right to tackle gentrification of London.

I agree the storylines that Keegan, Alex and Mads have been in are the only ones that things have been happening but I've generally not found them done well nor watchable. The only glimmer of an impression that this storyline was picking up for me was the episode of the party which, although horrific, felt likes something that could genuinely happen and could have valuable lessons for all. Instead, the aftermath occurred off-screen and the individuals responsible weren't held accountable and had no sense of guilt. It may come to bite them on the bum but, given SOC's track record, I won't hold my breath.

 

I keep thinking about how he killed Ronnie off because she remained unpunished for several of her crimes and it just made it hard to identify with her or see her as someone who could actually remain living in the Square. Since then, we've had him turn Michelle into a statutory rapist (due to not researching the laws of consent across America opposed to being intentional, by all accounts, but a statutory rapist nonetheless) and had her victim (no matter how much he controlled the situation or was a unsympathetic character) shamed and held solely responsible. Now, he's made Keegan someone so twisted that he's actually pretending he's raped a girl. That, to me, screams a character with a shelf-life, yet his family has just been brought in and all spoilers seems to hint that we're going to "see why Keegan is the way he is". Sorry, but no amount of sob story background issues are going to redeem this character and nor do I even care to try.

Are we really having scenes involving Jack's search for a nanny and Poundland Pam & Les in the cafe commenting on how nice Kathy's chips are?

 

It's to the point where I think SOC is actually sabotaging the show on purpose :manson:
