Really though most of the top 10 is fantastic.

Well that's a bloody impressive landslide whichever way you look at it, congrats Sam, lovely to see a first time winner and I know you'll be a fantastic host! <3 (this coming the same month as the Oscars though :mellow: make sure you get some sunlight x).

 

Though I can't deny I'm disappointed that in a final this strong, the winner was one of the weakest and most standard songs there. But the rest of that top 4 I guess makes up for it, hoping for a Mulgracia runner up!

My thoughts exactly, it's such a strong final and I just don't get Monopoly, it's a decent track but a clear winner out of this entire final? Not sure where that came from. Almost makes me wonder if the odds themselves have an influence on people's votes? By that I mean, do they see the odds and listen specifically to the songs highest up the list? It can't be all it is though because I'm sure it was up there for a reason and it must've appealed to people's tastes a lot to win by that much either way.

Congratulations Sam, it's always nice to see a first time winner and you'll do the hosting thing proud, I'm sure, and many thanks to Lewwb of course with doing such an incredible job again.

 

Perhaps when people are only predicting one winner it means it'll end up being that way, but it wasn't the winner I really wanted on song quality.

 

The bunch just behind it, poor Ryan coming second yet AGAIN but with a margin that big (also yeah, can we get back to having tight contests please, I miss them so badly), the bunch just behind it are also pretty good, no idea where that Grouplove song came from and Digitalism was nothing special but I get the rest of them. Wonder Girls and Crim3s are excellent hits.

 

Travesty having Aelandor and Azure be the bottom two because... literally two of the best in the whole thing but I guess I should have seen that coming.

I also want to say thank you Lew for a fantastically hosted contest I have loved the theme and the aesthetics of the contest :wub:

Thanks Randy and Meekul for pushing me past 200 points! :heart: Not quite a top 10 scrape in the end but at least 12th is a unique position for me, so I am happy with that. I am especially happy that this entry attracted so many big fans! 15 was the most common score I received tonight so that's excellent.

 

Amazing to see huge faves in Beaverdonia, Mulgracia and Summericia in the top 10 :wub: On the other hand, the likes of Yehesi/Persephonia/Cadelicia/Trifoski deserved way better.

 

Amazing hosting Leww! Can't wait for you to pass the torch to Ultraviolenceland next month as well. A good winner, it wasn't far off my final points and did get a couple of points from me in the semi.

thank you for 13th! a bit disappointing considering the predictions / there was a few snubs from people i was counting on but it was made up by the fact it beat my initial predictions of 15-25!

 

i hope the show was okay for you all, i know i keep saying this but sry but it not being too flashy, i'm still ill but i hope it was still enjoyable enough! done with zero prep apart from the images so everything was live, forgive the mistakes!

Well, finishing on my first points from Beaverdonia since 'Habib Galbi', hooray for that :lol: thankooo Meekul x And that saved me from the bottom 10, 'yay'. I'm really disappointed with that position ngl as I had talked myself into being confident it'd come top 20 but can't do well every time I guess! Pretty similar showing to 'Thelema' in the end. Mental note to never have high expectations again. x

 

Pleased to see Sirusho coming 2nd so my crystal ball wasn't too far off ignoring the gigantic landslide :kink: (but also a very good song so well deserved to match Ryan's peak - I'm sure you shall win one of these days). Fab to see Digitalism, Wonder Girls and CRIM3S top 10 as well, 'Open Waters' quite rightfully outdoing 'Blitz' and brilliant debut top 10s for both Travis and Roba :D Didn't really get St. Burbia's entry at all but fair play to them getting a first top 10 too and so close for Niceland as well, a very fresh feel to all of that top 10!

I would like to add that every single part of the hosting this month (aesthetics, results reveals, pacing, punctuality) was genuinely FLAWLESS. I know we maybe hold Leww to a slightly higher standard than everyone else when it comes to hosting (lucky bitch has had enough tries at it amirite ladies?) but even by those standards this is an unqualified success. In a word, "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS"

Gosh, Ramrynia are just never destined to go all the way are they </3 I can fully get behind this one though. Never thought Mulgracia would do better than Tongue Tied did, let alone get 3rd so that's a wonderful result for that.

 

A great top half of the scoreboard for the most part, but too low for Altyr/Perse #justiceforlongcinematicinstrumentals </3 (even if I get to keep my title of highest placing piano instrumental x)

Yeah not sure what happened with Yehesi, "I Come With Knives" is my favourite entry from them by a mile and I thought they'd do well after their initial holding in the top 10. It wasn't great seeing Taahino that low down either. :(
