A breathy, bombastic blend of dancehall and disco with an empowering verse from Skip Marley—grandson of Bob Marley—the song is a plea to set aside our differences and find unity on the dance floor. She sings: "Turn it up, it’s your favorite song/Dance-dance-dance to the distortion/So put your rose-coloured glasses on/And party on." - iTunes Release date: 10-02-2017 Format: digital single Label: Capitol Records Chart sales: 100k+ Sales only chart peak: 3 Streaming only chart peak: 8 Video Um7pMggPnug Biography Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer and songwriter. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager. Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin. After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007. Perry rose to fame in 2008 with the release of the singles "I Kissed a Girl"—which sparked controversy for its homosexual themes—and "Hot n Cold" from her second album, a pop rock record titled One of the Boys. Her third album, Teenage Dream (2010), ventured into disco, and contained the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T.", and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" as well as the number-three single "The One That Got Away". The album became the first by a female artist to produce five number-one songs in the U.S., and the second overall after Michael Jackson's album Bad. In March 2012, she re-issued the album as Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, which produced the songs "Part of Me" and "Wide Awake". Her fourth album, Prism, was released in 2013, and is influenced by pop and dance. She became the first artist with multiple videos to reach one billion views on Vevo with the videos for its songs "Roar" and "Dark Horse". Perry has received many awards, including four Guinness World Records, a Brit Award, and a Juno Award, and been included in the Forbes list of "Top-Earning Women In Music" (2011–2016). Her estimated net worth as of 2016 is $125 million. She is one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, having sold 100 million records globally throughout her career. In film, she released an autobiographical documentary titled Katy Perry: Part of Me in 2012, and voiced Smurfette in the 2011 film The Smurfs and its sequel in 2013. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History Katy Perry 2008 01 I Kissed A Girl -1- 2008 04 Hot N Cold -2- 2009 27 Thinking Of You -3- 2009 19 Waking Up In Vegas -4- 2009 03 Starstrukk (3OH!3 feat. March 17, 20179 yr 'Skin' hasn't been pushed commercially yet, I think they're waiting for 'Human' to lose steam first. I'm sure we'll see 'Skin' back in the chart soon enough. Personally I hope he'll promote another single instead of Skin, its had its time in the limelight, and if it's pushed properly it will gain more Top 40 weeks than Human
March 17, 20179 yr Love CTTR Great longevity? 5 weeks this high is nothing these days particularly for an established artist
March 17, 20179 yr Disappointed the music video got changed for You Don't Know Me. The video was the best thing about the song imo. I preferred Yeah Yeah Yeah and its retro house style!
March 17, 20179 yr 'Chained To The Rhythm' is so good  must check out the newly released Hot Chip remix.
March 17, 20179 yr The video was the best thing about the song imo. I preferred Yeah Yeah Yeah and its retro house style! Nah. Best dance hit since Kungs or Jonas Blue/JP Cooper. Easily.
March 17, 20179 yr Oh great have to listen to the same 9 Ed Sheeran tracks from last week, time to mute :nocheer:

March 17, 20179 yr So Katy Perry would have peaked at #2 if Ed Sheeran didn't exist... Not so upset for Martin Jensen as the song will probably climb further. I like the album, but having to listen to most of it in the top 10 is kind of putting me off sadly...
March 17, 20179 yr Top 10 domination again *_* 'Dive' is nothing to write home about really, one of the less memorable songs on the album for sure.
March 17, 20179 yr A decent song from Steps, indeed VERY ABBA. Greg was nicer about them than I expected, not too patronising and snobby. Greg loves a bit of pop! When I worked with him at student radio I'll always remember when I had an argument with the rest of the playlisting team that Madonna's "Hung Up" should be on the playlist. Everyone else was like "it's crap". Greg was the only one who backed me up :cheer:
