Will be interesting to see the opinion polls for later this week. Does anyone know when the last set of opinion polls will be done? I'm guessing they'll be around the 5th/6th of June?

They will be conducting polls right up to the day before polling day. The last ones will be published for the morning of the vote.

I've had way too many Tory leaflets that go straight in the bin but today I had a visit from a local labour councillor who by coincidence happens to be my old History teacher.
Also Iz and everyone joinin the Corbyn train: I. Told. Y'all. So!!!

I thought Corbyn was good from the start too but 2016 made me unsure. Still voting Lib Dem though, don't misunderstand me.

I've seen so many more posters for all three parties go up over the weekend though. Leaflets though, masses of literature from Libs (I've been responsible for delivering at least 3 rounds of it so far so not quite a fair comparison) to contrast from one small two-sided leaflet from the big two.

I was convinced from the start, even when y'all were saying the sky was falling with him and us socialists in charge!

Corbyn is a good salesman, but the problem is, what he is selling is long-term debt.

Increasing taxation wouldn't raise anything like the money he's proposing to spend, so he'd have to borrow massively too - and debts eventually have to be repaid...

Wrong.

You have to invest and spend to power up the economy, or did you miss the Tories trippling the debt and paying more on benefit assessments than on how much it would be to have that safety net in place.

Also, your argument is what they said after WW2 against the creation of he NHS and welfare state. They were wrong then and you are wrong now.

You can't spend more than you earn, that just stores up debt for later.

The Labour manifesto is fully costed.

You spend more to make more later with bettr infrastructure and a more mobile workforce.

Why is something which is good for everyone always too expensive but when it's individualistic for the rich it's always fine or if it's starting a war and killing people it's grand?!

I'm beginning to think you are Diane Abbott. :P

It doesn't matter how well costed it might be, if enough people aren't prepared to accept the inevitable large tax rises it would entail.

Well, not everyone agrees that it is good for everyone. :teresa:

The Labour party manifesto is clearly aimed at the younger parts of the electorate, both because they are more radical, and because younger people know that the burden of increased taxation will affect them far less.

Absolutely this.

There is no need for Trident. 50% of the UK voted for itrelevance anyway.

Jesus Christ I have no idea how anyone could vote for the Tories if they are not mega rich. Even then, why vote for the same families who ruled us as land barons centuries ago? Beggars belief.

Lmao the taxation suggested is more for business tax, you kno, the tax the Tories don't go after as it's in the interests of their rih chums not to, and renationalising the railways is pretty damn cheap. Everyone complains the railways are a STATE and preyed upon by the rich, resulting in exorbitant fares. So why not renationalise? Others will reauire a one-off payment then will pay for themselevs over the long-run. Tories are short sighted, looking for quick pay days theycan personally invest in, instead of fpr the good of the average person. But hey, why care about the average person? A few centuries ago they were serfs for these same Tory families!!!

Check again.

That is Daily Fail LIE.

The burden falls on the ultra rich and businesses, and the tax burden is not so great as you think.

I'm not gonna explain as your ignorance is annoying me.

Please google how people are taxed. It is stepped. EVERYONE is taxed the same on the first 20k, first 50k etc.

We agree on this, at least.

I'm not disputing the target of the tax - the problem is, they wouldn't hang around to to be taxed. They will emigrate, and big businesses will relocate. *That's* why Labours sums won't add up - their source of revenue will melt away.

Now with the ad hominem attacks.

No, big business will go because of Brexit if anything. Becoming a tax haven and not collecting AGREED UPON TAX is vile.
Well this is a trainwreck.

The whole situation is like Brexit, and the US Presidential Election...

Loud voices may get media attention, but it was the silent majority who decided both contests, to the disbelief of those who prefer volume to votes...
