Another piece of pop news this week comes from M.O who appear set to serve up their latest pop offering!

This follows on from the success of Who Do You Think Of? and the unfortunate flop of Not In Love (featuring Kent Jones).

Standby for another smash!

Should be in urban!

But interested to see what they put out next...

Hopefully it's news on that album! :drama:

I would like them to feature everything they've released on the album! It's just wall to wall of bangers so far! They deserve to be a lot bigger than they currently are!

Wait, so she stayed with the band through those numerous releases over the past few years where they were building up hype and support and quits NOW after they've sort of broken through finally?? Its as though she's having Mini Viva flashbacks due to Not in Love performing not as good as WDYTO

I don't get why you would put in all that work and then quit when it is starting to pay off?

I highly doubt this will be smashing anything unfortunately. They looked like they had some potential to at least be Neon Jungle level success but I've just lost interest in them now...

Frankee was the fittest member I think, follow her on Instagram.

Who Do You Think Of was a smash primarily because it fitted trends. Not In Love was much poppier and didn't perform as well. Its a shame because a British r&b crossover group would have been welcome but they arguably went too pop.

Female urban artists from the UK are doing good right now anyway.. artists like Mabel, Ray BLK, Jorja Smith, RAYE, Stefflon Don't, Nadia Rose, Lady Leshurr etc. Its healthy.

They just seem to have little personality. That's their problem. Not In Love did okay considering they've only really had one minor hit.

They need to come back with a banger and hopefully they can set theirselves up nicely for a big proper breakthrough.

Yeah I agree, Who Do You Think Of was a flawless song to break them through, it followed the right trends but it didn't feel like it dampened their energy and aura as a group. Not In Love kind of did and felt a bit flat by comparison, but it did quite well anyway and was a good enough song, just not good enough. Something like The Line by Raye would have been fab for them I feel, we need a girlgroup with music like that I feel.

This concept of personality... I assume you're comparing them to a group like Little Mix. M.O. should never be trying to emulate that, their genre is R&B. Whenever I've heard them interviewed on 1Xtra they come across really well and the 'Preach' video especially showed personality. Just think that 'Not In Love' was the wrong song to release really.

I don't think they're coming back. But if they do, they shouldn't do pop. R&B with 90s influence is what made them stand out in the first place.

Not In Love didn't even do that badly - most of my friends knew it and it did rather well on Spotify so the public interest is still there. They just need another tropical pop banger with the right support and they can easily get another top 40 hit.

That's a complete different story.

M.O have said (I think?) that they've been trying so hard to get chart hits. Now that it's happened it seems odd that she'd leave.

Frankee has been very distant :( Annie & Nadine both have in their bios about M.O. on Twitter and it seems like ever since Not In Love underperformed, she's stopped caring. She's in Ibiza now for instance.

I think they have it in them to turn it around, 'Who Do You Think Of' was a hit and 'Not In Love' is still known but they need to be quicker. When I met Annie she said new music was coming very soon and they are playing Brighton Pride, Tramlines and V Festival so it'd be odd for them to do all these gigs with no intention of carrying on.
