I really don't understand how basically the follow-up (from the sequel to the movie Happy was lifted from at least)

Yup, this is why I thought it'd do decently. I didn't expect top 10 dominance on iTunes or anything but certainly a HELL of a lot better than how it's currently performing.

Anyway

I think it's worth mentioning that the Pharrell song is available as part of a compilation, as opposed to an individual single at first (like Happy). He's not a fanbase act either so I'm not at all surprised!

I know what you're saying but it's astonishing that somebody who had three multi-million selling singles only a few years ago appears to pretty much have no fanbase whatsoever  Especially as he had a decent selling #1 album only three years ago too, so it's not like he was just racking up hits without selling any albums off the back of it.

Guess it just goes to show how fickle and fast moving the music audience are these days, for all but a select elite few.
Charlie Puth's 'Attention' seems to be making gains on each update not that I'm complaining :D..... any particular reason??

I think he went and sung it somewhere

That Guetta/Bieber track sounds like something off of the SEGA Megadrive in the 90s.

I remember the only reason I liked Jack by Breach is that the instrumental sounded a bit like the soundtracks of Age of Empires 1 with the weird pitched vocals also being a bit similar to some of the noises when you clicked on war elephants.

Anyway 2U is a lot better than I expected, definitely the best song Justin Beiber has been on so far, the second drop does gets a bit grating after a while though imo.

It wouldn't be nearly so high in the chart if Justin Beiber wasn't on it. Still disappointed Guetta's last single Another Life (with Afrojack ft Ester Dean) flopped.

Wasn't happy available on the soundtrack almost 6 month before it actually took off though

I think only Summertime Ball, but I'm not sure if that can be the sole responsibility? How have other songs/artists fared that performed there? Barring Little Mix - Power, coz that's a combination of that AND the video, so it's hard to know what effect their performance did haha)

new peak this week, i hope!!

Also Liam up to #5.

:cheer:

This Town at #60.

:P

I've no clue why Rita is falling away, seems as though she just hasn't been able to recover her momentum after the Manchester effect.

7 Little Mix - Power (feat. Stormzy)

Looking like a second post-album top 10, then! Should be comfortably top 20 officially this week for sure.

5 Miley Cyrus - Malibu

12 Sigala & Ella Eyre - Came Here For Love

23 Olly Murs & Louisa Johnson - Unpredictable

26 Alma - Chasing Highs

32 Miley Cyrus - Inspired

40 5 After Midnight - Up in Here - held up very well! :o

If Little Mix discount on Friday, they could have really good top 10 peak. There is a second version of the song at #88, too.

If only this was reflected in the chart! Anyway they aren't that fast moving as tropical house/tropical pop is still a big chart force and I and lots of other Buzzjackers when we made our predictions in the 2017 predictions thread thought it would be finished in the charts by now (mid 2017) for a new trend.

Little Mix clearly the bigger girlband at least in the UK! Major oops for 5H tho, I wonder if it'll ever recover.
