Sounds like West Ham grew in to the game more as it went on. I think he will make you solid that's for sure. On paper you have a good enough attack to easily stay up. Think you will be OK, but it will be close.

Pardew to West Brom is just bonkers. Honestly it is just like the Old Boy's Club in terms of managers.. failure after failure and you can still get a job!

Football must be one of the few careers where getting sacked doesn't hinder you in getting a new job

Predictions for Liverpool/Chelsea? I've got money on them drawing.

I think Liverpool will beat Chelsea as they've got a good record at home against the top sides.

A bit late with this but Man Utd have lost a record they have held since the 1930-31 season. I don't think they'll be too upset about. In that season they lost their first twelve games, a record for the five major European leagues that has stood ever since. Until now. Italian Serie A newcomers lost at home to Sassuolo on Monday night, leaving their record so far at P13 L13 Pts 0.
On the Subject of things United would like to forget I think today is one. In fact the only thing I can remember is that it really pissed it down and Brighton’s number 11 is a cheating c**t who rolled around on the floor like he was on fire. f*** all wrong with him other than his serious embarrassment at being pure mugged by Lindelof

No mention, then, of the fact that the goal came from a corner which should have been a goal kick. Or the fact that it only went in because of a massive deflection.

Yeh heard that untied were lucky today but 3 points is 3 points. Really like Brighton tho and they're manager - big Duffy at the back is immense - should be Ireland captain imo!

Looked like a corner to me but my seat is at the back of the stand at the opposite end and I don’t recall the Brighton fans complaining about that decision.

If it hits the back of the net it doesn’t matter how it got there. A goal is a goal and at the end of the day the outcome was the right one.

I wrote the post before I'd seen the post-match analysis on MOTD. That showed that the ball did brush the defender's boot, so it was a corner. Of course, a goal is a goal, but it was still a pretty lucky win against a newly-promoted side.

They didn't show the incident you mentioned. Nor did they show the alleged handball which would have given Brighton a penalty. The people on Final Score all said the handball was clearly not deliberate (even under the current rules), so maybe that's why they didn't show it.

That was never a handball. There was a far better shout at the other end of the pitch the ref didn’t give.

It wasn’t an incident. Lindelof mugged him and he rolled around on the floor so dramatically the people who discover dead bodies at the start of crime dramas were judging him for over acting. Below is a gif of the tackle in question. United fans loved it, I honestly thought your number 11 had been shot by a sniper but he was just trying to have lindelof sent off. Not even the ref indulged him, that’s how obviously faking it he was

I THINK WE CAN ALL AGREE BRIGHTON ARE THE MORAL WINNERS WITH COMPARISON TO THE MONEY ABD POWER THE TWO DIFFERENT CLUBS HAVE 😜

It was always going to be difficult for Brighton, Man Utd are really strong at home and while they not exactly goal prolific at the moment, they have plenty of experience and players that can come up with the goods. I really did fancy Brighton for the draw pre-game, just because of how good form they have been in recently.

Anyway that was a massive 3 points for Man Utd as the next 3 games will make of break their season in the league.

If it was Manchester City that got a fortunate 1-0 win against Brighton then no one would complain. A win is a win at the end of the day and however we win doesn't matter to me.
I was outraged at how City won today Houdini but a win is a win after all!

Even Arsenal today, it sounded like they were fortunate to win as well. That's how football is, the better team on the day doesn't always win but it's the result that matters most. I would feel sorry for Brighton but then I remember what Huddersfield did to us a few weeks ago!

Well all the top teams either drew or scraped a win this weekend so really anything can happen now the games will come thick & fast.

Exactly this - everyone is pretty much playing every 3/4 days for the next 6 weeks. It is going to be a relentless time, all it takes is an injury or two to key players then it can have a big impact. City were playing exceptional a couple of weeks ago but have taken the foot off the gas a little.. no one team is in super amazing form. Plus I think over the next few weeks we have Arsenal vs Liverpool, Arsenal vs Man Utd, Man Utd vs Man City, Man City vs Spurs.

Some quality goals scored in the Watford vs Man Utd match tonight. Lingard's goal was the best, possible goal of the month winner there!

Great game for entertainment value but we were woeful that second half, I'm beginning to think q Rashford is simply Welbeck Mk. II.

Lukaku needs to find his scoring boots again and fast. Absolutely woeful performance from him.

Still, positives - 3 points in the bag. Good defensive performances all around. Despite the brain fart for the penalty I was most impressed by Rojo, solid no nonsense defender. Happy for Young to be back in the goals.

Off to Everton away tonight, such a huge game. Heart says we showed improvement on Friday and Everton are just as shit as us at the moment. Head says wins at Goodison are once a decade events. 2-0 Everton is my pessimistic prediction.
